I need help. I am completely torn. I have one spot left in my upcoming trip and I am trying to decide between a return visit to Hadestown or a first time with Kimberly Akimbo.
I saw Hades just after it won the Tony. I loved it and have been wanting to see it again, especially now that Lillias White has taken over Hermes. However, I've heard such amazing things about Kimberly, and it sounds very intriguing. Thoughts? Opinions? Especially interested in hearing people's thoughts about Kimberly as there is very little so far to research the show with. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

In this situation, I would choose Kimberly based on that fact it is a new show, and who knows how long it will be on Broadway, and I don't know what life it will have after Broadway.

100% agree. Kimberly. (Coming from someone that is a BIG fan of Hadestown.) You might not have another opportunity.

RT all of the above posts. I saw KA off Broadway, and it's a gorgeous little show. Hoping they tightened up a few book things and found a number to really show of Victoria Clark, but even if they made no changes, it's a very good show. But it's also quirky and may have trouble finding an audience. And Justin Cooley's performance alone will be worth the price of admission.
So unless you're a massive Lillias White Stan, I'd go with KA.

Ditto to what everyone has already said especially Kurtal’s remark about Cooley. I saw this twice at Atlantic and can’t wait to see it again. A fun heartwarming musical.

Definitely Kimberly. Exciting to see a new musical open on Broadway with the original company.

I'm just here to agree with everyone else. I have seen both and would not even hesitate to go back to Kimberly Akimbo before Hadestown. Hadestown is a lot of really wonderful things, but things that you can see a lot in other forms all the time. KA is so moving and unusual and is fully it's own experience, particularly with this cast. Go and enjoy!

I totally understand loving a show and wanting to see it again but I would say that if you are having to travel in to see shows, see something new. I would also see "Kimberly", if it were me. However, if you are returning again in, let's say the next 4 to 6 months, you could take a chance and see "Kimberly" then, if it is still running. But I would still see something new. JMO

Kimberly 100%
Also, the Hadestown tour is really good if you get a chance to see it.

I received a nicely printed flyer for Kimberly but it had no discount code on it. I’m not sure I have ever received that type of mailing without a code. Got one from Some Like It Hot last week and I immediately ordered a ticket. Is advance sale so strong for KA that they are not providing a discount? That mailing had to cost them dearly. I’m skeptical and will wait until it’s on TDF in January.
