I’ve become curious on their relationship through this show. I guess with them both rising in fame around the same time I never quite aligned them as “friends”. And yes I understand this is business. But does anyone find it weirdly how separated they seem to be. Through this green of Versailles? I realize as well we aren’t dealing with a hello Dolly mega star and Broadway star. And maybe that’s what’s weird to me the fact Sherie would accept almost a one off. Nevermind their very different styles and approaches. Any thoughts or insight
Are you trying to fish for issues that may or may not be there. I’m not sure the point of the question and that’s not meant rudely.
Sometimes you just gotta take the job that's available.
Based on Sherie’s absence from Broadway, it’s apparent she’s happy being a writer in residence at Second Stage Theater. I know this may sound shocking to theater nerds but not many Broadway actors are keen to the rigorous 8 performances a week and decline many offers to headline on Broadway and prefer film and TV work where they can make in one week what would take months of 8 performances a week in a show. Laura Benanti has stated this recently on why she has no interest in being on Broadway at this time. For Sherie, she already has a day job and being a standby logistically is a fabulous gig - she’s on salary (gets paid whether she performs or not) AND she only performs when needed. She doesn’t have to go to the St James Theatre at all and just needs to call in to make sure everything is good.

There’s not much there.
This was developed with Kristin at the helm. This was always her vehicle. Sherrie was offered a job. She said yes. The checks haven’t bounced. They both sleep well at night and have wonderful, vibrant personal lives.
You're not gonna turn this into Gay Amadeus successfully. There is no there there unless it's purely in jest.

Sherie doesn't take survival roles, she just vibes and does what sounds fun.
Years back, Sherie stated pretty publicly that she didn't really feel the "need" to constantly submit herself to the rigors of an 8 show a week Broadway schedule. She pivoted her focus to writing and to her work on Sh-K Boom records. She appears to be happy with this arrangement, with performing just being one aspect of her career/life, and not the sole focus.
