Pre-order it on Amazon and you can listen to the soundtrack in its entirety in your Digital Locker. I have just listened to the whole thing, and I think it really is wonderful. If possible it is even jazzier and brassier than the original cast recording. The orchestrations are incredibly rich. I think that Will and Uma have done a terrific job. I have never been so excited listening to the Hop Clop before! And Flaunt it sounds great. Broderick and Lane are in top form throughout. And Beach and Bart are great in Keep it Gay and everything else. There are minor changes in all of the songs, but nothing that will blow anyone's mind. I think I may like it just as much as the OBCR, and maybe even a little more (but that could be the novelty of the new recording talking).
does that one song still sound like the chipmunks?
No, that never would have happened. It was just a mistake on that website.
That song has been fixed on that website for sometime now.
The soundtrack has also been added to BroadwayWorld Radio. I'm sure Kris wouldn't mind anyone making requests...
Also, Ferrel's Hop Clop Goes On (the power ballad version of the Hop Clop) is just about one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
I'm listening to it right now, and Farrell is hilarious! His "Deutsche Band" is brilliant! Haven't gotten to Uma yet, but I'm anxious...
EDIT: Just listened to "When You Got It...". While I'm not thrilled, she does sound very good. I like some of the things she does. She sounds really nice on "That Face".

Thanks for the heads up - I just preordered it. That'll be a great study break for tonight.

The Conga being included is worth the price to me. Roger sounds adorable - his "He's having a stroke - of genius!" made me burst out laughing.
I like Uma's Ulla. She seems to have a bit of a problem with the accent, but she's in tune, and she nails her last note. I think it's gonna be ok.

I love the Conga too. And I agree, Uma really sounds good. Better than I had imagined.
You can only listen to it if you pre-order it right? Does anyone know where you can listen to sample clips of the movie? How does it sound...does Uma do the song justice...I totally want to know. I dont have money to buy the CD right now, but totally want to hear it....can anyone help me???

I think Uma has had a bit of help in the studio, but the result isn't too bad. No amount of studio magic could help Gerard Butler in Phantom.
Oh my goodness I'm listening to this right now and it's FREAKING AWESOME.
Sounds to me that a lot of the comic bits have tightened in their execution..."Betrayed" is FANTASTIC, and Bart and Beach's lines in "Keep it Gay" amazingly funny.
Uma's awesome.
Will's awesome.
However, "I Wanna Be a Producer" is by FAR my favorite track. WOW. Great re-orchestrations....
OH GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE.
*SPOILERS BELOW*
I just pre-ordered it, and my initial reactions are....
1) The new orchestrations are lots of fun, esp the new dance music in "That Face," "Springtime," and "Bially," the pigeons in "Hop Clop," plus the new ending to "I Wanna Be a Producer"
2) I love the added dialogue in some songs (ie "It's like a Nazi hoe-down")
3) Lane and Broderick still got it
4) I miss Brad Oscar and Cady Huffman ;-( ("Now Ulla belt" is followed by what sounds like a mouse singing off-key)
5) Betrayed is somehow even more funny (though "INTERMISSION" is missing, at least on the recording)
6) The "Rio" song should have remained on the cutting-room floor. It's short, unfunny, and increadably out of place musically. Does not fit the style of the show at all.
I know I just gave a very mixed review, but still I'm really excited about the film, and the soundtrack is fun to listen to.
EDIT: 7) Lane's dedpan delivery of "Don't Help Me" in "Til Him" made me crack up The Conga added to "Keep it Gay" made me incredably happy. I was so pissed it was cut from the original recording.
9) "Just the murderers" line in "Prisoners of Love" is hillarious!!!
10) "The Hop Clop Goes On" (obviously named as such due to it's mockery of "My Heart Will Go On") is one of the funnest things I've ever heard. I hope that even though it's not entirely original they let him perform it at the Oscars.
11) Yay! Goodbye is still in!!! (with a great "It's Over?" at the end)

Hmm...Just listened to it and may as well post some initial comments and a formal review once I get the actual CD in the mail.
-Uma sounds pretty good but not nearly as good as Cady. Cady rocked "When Youve Got It" on the OBCR and made the CD a must-have in my book. But, Uma will most likely recieve positive reviews for her vocal performance. She sounds good, and would sound better if I went into the theater not knowing who the hell Cady Huffman was and not having previously listened to the OBCR.
-Will sounds hysterical, and in all honesty, he's a pretty good singer. I have to say as all the dissenters looked down at him when it was announced he was playing Franz, I kept my mouth shut knowing he would shock everyone and be great. And I stick by that theory. He had me crying with laughter from the trailer alone and he only had like three lines.
-Gary and Roger sound as uproarously funny, witty, clever, and inventive as ever. They were the best part of the stage version and I truly think they wont dissapoint one bit here. They havent lost one ounce of their hysterical, random, knee-slapping vocal punchlines if you will. They sound equisite.
-Nathan sounds great. Betrayed is excellent and (although I miss the "intermission" part) it is better than the OBCR. He is very funny and proves that he is a splendid singer. Now only if 'King of Broadway' wasnt cut (hey I can dream, cant I?). Great job, Nathan!
-Matthew sounds good. He kind of irked me in the OBC when I saw him, and it sounds like that hasn't changed. He sounds fine. 'I Wanna Be A Producer' sounds very good, actually, but by the end of the song *at least I thought* I was happy it was over because his nasally, whiny (I know its the character but its a bit overbearing) singing voice just got to me, so by the end of the CD I was thrilled that he was done with his nasally, irritating voice. I know its the part but...it couldve been downplayed a bit but still made evident that he was an annoying, hoity-toity, cloying accountant. I dunno...
Overall, the CD sounds puhretty damn good. I cant wait to see this movie!!
I'd give the CD (as of now **I remind you I skipped through a few parts and didnt listen to all of the CD**) ***1/2 stars or maybe ***. It's worth listening to, dont get me wrong. Its very enjoyable and totally entertaining.
anyone know any websites that have clips of the tracks?

I dunno about y'all, but I am sad they cut "Oh I credits all da mornins...etc"
I had the same thought about the black accountant's solo. It seems that they have cut a lot of the bit player's parts, in order to streamline the film. Hopefully this wont take too much away from the final product.

Hopefully not.
That was one of my favorite parts of the show...
I still can't find anyplace to listen to it! lol. I've got bwwradio tuned in 24/7 but always seem to miss it when they play selections.

Uma's accent is in and out - but she isn't that bad. No Cady, but no Wing.

Betrayed is awesome (too bad they had to take out "A rabbi without a schul")
The new songs don't do much...
But I thought Will would be more over the top vocally to make up for his lack of a singing voice. He is good, no BRad though.
But I am sure he will be great!
The Hop Clop Goes On may be my new favorite song - my God that was funny -- and I usually can't STAND WIll Ferrel.
I'm defnitely looking forward to this film, though still not as much as Rent....
