I think it's a little bit too late. Even if they do sell a lot of tickets, I think they'd like to go out with a bang. But still...give the guys the support, buy your tickets to help them have a great closing.

Corine, this is beginning to get very sad. There are several differences between you and Christina Applegate. The most important are that you are NOT starring in La Cage, however much you overidentify with "Andy" and The Cagelles, and you are not able to pull out a check book and cover the necessary funds to keep the show going, as Christina did.
Seriously, this is starting to get crazy. Urging Jerry Mitchell to cancel Broadway Bares (ads are already placed) and do something for The Cagelles.
How you can say "it doesn't make sense" that the show is closing is just not in any way understandable.
I am not asking him to cancel Bares.
I am suggesting another event for Broadway Cares.
Ok. I have done all I can do.
Next topic.
PS Namo honey,
I don't over identify with the Cagelles. I just think they are faboo and passionate.
Passion is what this business is about.
When they were doing that Can Can dance I was really impressed.
Sadly, I am not as pretty as they are in drag.
That is a drag.

It's a shame it is closing. I was coming to NY to see it. It's also a shame that Jerry Herman does not tape his shows for video, we could have had Channing's last run as Dolly on dvd, so all future generations could see her, now who knows when we'll see a great La Cage, except for community theatres, ect. I sure hope this tours to Minneapolis!
I liked Goulet in the role.
I liked Davis but Goulet has a stronger voice.
He surprised me. I did not think he would be right in the role, but he was.
The chemistry was incredible and they all looked like they were having a blast.
Hanna was a bit scary!

Corine - I brought up Dracula as a point. YOu said something about "could the show be saved?"
I was saying that when a show announces it's closing, Box Office sales will become distorted - as was the case with Dracula (and many other shows).
Christina Applegate's belief alone didn't save Sweet Charity... I think her money played a big part of it.
And standing ov's don't really mean anything anymore (not in this country, at least.) I think it was Denis O'Hare who said that you can make more of a statement by not standing up.
Not like I didn't like La Cage. I adored La Cage, and I hate to see any show close because it means actors are going to be out of work. But really...
Thenadier, you need to stop your practice of name-calling.
Just got my $45 tickets to the day before it closes thanks to the discount code.
