Does anyone know if a cast album is in the works? I loved the concept album Sting released and was hoping that a recording of the show would be done.

I heard it from someone involved in the production.
I guess like pretty much everything else he's ever said, Roxy was wrong.
Jordan, has there ever been a time when Roxy was right?
I think he once said he had to poop and he actually did poop.

I love this show and I still think and hope it will find an audience!

Can't wait for it to actually come out, the music from this show is SO beautiful. I never really considered myself a Sting fan, but this is changing my mind.

^ January is more likely. It takes awhile to put an album together.
Hateorobics, how are you involved with the production (which, incidentally, I think is terrific).?

I'll be buying this as soon as it come out! Loved this score.
It makes me very happy that unsuccessful shows (like Big Fish, Scandalous, Rocky and many others) are able to get cast recordings despite how expensive they are to make. It makes you realize that the people who produce these cast recordings don't just do it for the money, because they know how important it is to preserve a show's score. (Cue: "Cockeyed Optimist")

JBroadway, I agree. And then one day down the road, it will be a gem for those of us who live to collect obscure OBCRs!
Cast albums usually cost the same price as one week of performances so they are not that expensive.
Broadway.com put up photos of today's recording session.

I'm not involved at all. I just searched Twitter and found that.
I'd be a bad shill for this show, seeing how I kept writing about disliking the whole story of building the ship, etc.
The Pre-Order has just been posted on Amazon.
Just in time for Christmas...

Wow. They are really pushing it through. I wish all shows had that kind of enthusiasm for getting their OBCR's released.
I'm actually excited to hear the songs again. I loved that duet about the moon in Act II. And "The last ship" is pretty solid.
I wish On the Town would get theirs out before Christmas, but it's two discs so I understand that it'll obviously take longer to master and press.
I bet the release date for The Last Ship will get pushed back a week or two though.
