My context of the discusssion is direct, not implied. The poster I was originally addressing (JSquared2) said the month of February is 'to call attention' to black people. I stand by my repsonse that the month is to HONOR black people in history - big difference between the two. And the naming of the theater is to honor Horne, not 'call attention to her' . She's the first to be honored this way, and it would be more appropriate to honor her during BHM."
Since we can go back and look at the thread, JSquared2 said in response to your point that they should have waited until Black History Month to rename the theatre:

Now, admittedly, “attention” is probably the wrong choice of words and you are correct that Black History Month is indeed about honoring Black people and events. But what everyone here has taken issue with is your apparent insistence that honoring Black people should only be done in February. You keep trying to bait other posters into saying something racist, when in fact you’ve been saying racist things this whole time. I would maybe take a breath and reflect.

I'm not insisting anything - follow the thread. In my original post, I asked why they didn't wait until February (BHM) for this event to honor Horne. I never ever said February was the ONLY month - never said or implied that at all. I did say February was the month in which honoring black people in history is celebrated - hence, honoring Horner would be appropriate. I have not tried to 'bait' others, I've been making my same point over and over. I've even asked others what they see the purpose of BHM to be - and so far, no one has answered - they've chosen to be offended instead. (It's a rather simple question). They've also chosen to misinterpret what I've said and - that February is the only month. Again, February is a recognized month to honor these individuals.
