When I was a teen I was obsessed with this live recording of Lena singing "New Fangled Tango" from Happy Hunting. I must find it and listen again.
RIP to a beautiful, unique talent. I shall listen to Jamaica in your honor!

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

Posted: 5/10/10 at 10:51amMay she rest in peace. My parents had a Lena Horne album when I was growing up that I liked enough to go see her in Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music. That show and her performance have stuck with me to this day. She epitomized strength and beauty.
