This is just to hold the theater over until A CHRISTMAS STORY, right?

It says its a limited run until December 29 so I am guessing "A Christmas Story" will have to find a different theatre.

As mentioned elsewhere in this board, the Marquis is likely A CHRISTMAS STORY's target.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

The show started off on Broadway originally titled Rain

I find this odd since when I passed by the St James yesterday the marquee was advertising a show and it seemed like a one person play. I forgot what the title was but the show was written, directed and starred the same guy. It was weird because nothing was announced and today there is an annoucement for something else. Did anyone else see this?

They were filming a movie at the St. James yesterday. No idea if that is what you saw. I have no idea if they were doing both interiors and exteriors.

See the Paul McCartney concert at the Barclay Center in June rather than something like this show - lol.

The Rain folks were American, the Let it Be guys are British. Explain how it is the same show?

This is Broadway's Rain but under a different title (the one it opened with in the UK).

this is gonna be at 70% or less for the entire run. Unless they have $25 tix for everyone. Bad idea.

if it's similiar to Rain, the it'll have a low weekly running costs. But I really don't see this doing well, it should be a shorter run, at least.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

We thought it would suck when it came to London - but it's now in its second theatre and doing incredibly well; there's a huge market for this show.

Saw it in London a few weeks ago. It felt a bit odd at first as you realize they're apparently not allowed to say the name, The Beatles, or use the names of any of the members of the band. Quickly though the music takes over. In my opinion that music is still incredible. It's very well performed. I love The Beatles and I liked "Let It Be". I realize that not everyone will agree.

The show isn't for your regaular theatregoers. It's for tourists and lovers of the Beatles and if London is anything to go by, there is a strong market for that. I think it will do fine business, probably not at full price but its a very cheap show to run compared to most Broadway shows so its a perfect filler type show,

RAIN was on Broadway. It played at the Brooks Atkinson. It flopped then so I don't know why they're trying it once more.

I don't get why everybody's saying it's not RAIN when it totally is. It's advertised on the website, for Christ's sake. Money for old rope when you can see a Beatles tribute pretty much anywhere for cheaper. I'll pass.

Seriously!

wasn't there a rumor that No Man's Land & Waiting for Godot was going to be at the St. James this fall? I'm glad that's not the case
