Little Mermaid opens in Denver tonight- Page 2

Yeah, other than TLK. I'm not gonna completely judge it unitl it opens on Broadway- I think that's fair. I don't think anyone should judge from the first preview (that doesn't mean I won't be looking forward to the reviews!).

I agree Tap, I think this is going to be the best show that Disney has put out, even better than The Lion King!

It doesn't "officially" open until the 24th of August. I wish I had a digital camera. They just put up the rest of the HUGE "Little Mermaid" banners at the entrance to the Center where it is playing. The center has an arched "ceiling" and they are hanging from it. I am looking at them from my office. They will look cool at night as they are fabric and the light will pass through them. There are 8 that I can see from here. If I can get someone to snap a pic I will.

I haven't been a fan of any of Disney's stage shows (except Aida), but I am excited for this. There are so many talented people involved, that have previously done AMAZING work. Everyone from Glenn Slater (LOVE him) to Heidi Blickenstaff (LOVE her), not to mention Sherie, Norm, Derrick, Tituss, Doug Wright, Jonathan Freeman!!! And I'm psyched to see a new production at the Lunt- Fontanne, a historically fascinating theatre.

I've never been happier that my Cali time is the earliest! I'm so excited! And here is a link to a site on denver theater that wants ppl to post about the show when they see it... I'm keeping an eye out.

I was in Denver recently and stayed at The Curtis which is just down the street from the theater. Very funny hotel. Check it out while you are waiting.
