And I'll believe it when I see it...

Great... something to go with Spider-Man, King Kong and Love Never Dies.
Oh so I didn't see that one. Well excuse the hell out of me.
I really think this could work, i liked what they did with a lot of the new 2009 reading and the fact they have worked on it again and are really giving it their all to make this work is a great thing.
Im a huge Carrie fan, yes some of the songs were a mess and the staging was awful but inside the 88 show somewhere was a great show dying to get out.
I wish them all the best
I'm not gunna lie...I'm kind of excited. I don't know if I want to see it succeed or fail miserably...either way should be entertaining.
Why would you want to see a show a fail?

Did that guy see the show?
He just said Wotta Night was a god moment in the show, after Out For Blood that was the worst song
^^ Yes. Wotta Night was the best song? HAHAHAHAHAHA.
I don't see why anyone thinks this is going to somehow be a hit. I'm in the boat of won't close over night but won't last more than a few months. This arguement always gets brought up - but plenty of people don't even know what Carrie is. Stephen King has surpassed himself with 'IT' as his new most well known story. The show was horrible the first time around (though still, plenty of numbers I enjoyed listening to). It's legacy will probably follow it - but I also don't see any type of large audience (because there was none back in 1988 either) except theatre fans, who will all rush to see it in the beginning with thousands of discounts anyway!
Stritch as Margaret?
Next up:
The revised and revived Legs Diamond! Starring Hugh Jackman.
Quick, someone start a facebook page!

It's not Carrie without "I'm Not Alone". I hope they put it back.

Before I comment, I confess to never having seen CARRIE and know it only from Mandelbaum's book. It sounds to me like it was a well-intentioned show gone all wrong.
However, I DID see Legs Diamond and it had absolutely NO redeeming features at all -- lousy score, lousy book, Peter Allen at his most obnoxious (and that says a lot) and a waste of time, expense and energy. No matter WHO they put into LD, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot dildo. UGH!!!!
I love the fact I actually saw Carrie.
The show was so mind numbingly bad with the two leads being absolutely amazing.
I can't decide what was worse: the sets, Debbie Allen's amateur choreography, or the incredibly bad acting of Gene Anthony Ray.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About time.

I'm hoping for the best. I love Carrie so much, it should be illegal. Carrie can work on stage. Was it material that screams, 'musicalize me'? No. Do I think it will last a long time? Probably not. Do I think the score and script are perfect? No. But we all know that the show has a lot of potential...and we all know it. My hope is that it will be put on at Second Stage, Encores, or if its on Broadway- limited run first. A small scale revival, and we'll take it from there.
Regardless, it might never be perfect, but I anticipate the long awaited revival more than anything. In my opinion, this is a HUGE step for Broadway. We need more high-risk endeavors right now. What was ever really accomplished by being 'safe'?
I don't see how this is a huge step for B'way. This is kitsch, plain and simple. A lot of us have seen the various bootlegs circulating, and a turd - no matter how much you polish it - remains a turd. (Of course, when you consider the crap playing nowadays, Carrie shines in comparison to, say, Wicked.)
Also, how does someone's once-famous sister saying a show is coming back to B'way qualify as news? Yes, they've done a lot of readings recently, but, honestly, what backer would invest (in this)? Seems a tad premature...

The only question that need be answered is: What show isn't "aiming" to come to B'way? Once you answer that you will understand everything.

Hahaha so true.

Well i think his sister is gonna be smart enough to not say anything if it was false, shes worked in this industry a long time.
Also many many people would back this show, and if the readings are still ongoing etc then it would seem that intrest in this show from people wanting to produce/back it is still there
