Looks like Andrew Jackson will be following the Scottsboro Boys

I was just poking around on Telecharge and I noticed That Championship Season has their dates and prices posted now.

The prices show a mezzanine that goes back to Row K. The only theatres that match that are the Schoenfeld and the Jacobs. The Schoenfeld is booked (Mother****er with the Hat) so that unfortunately means Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will be shutting down at the end of the year.

Not a great fall season for new musicals.

"Not a great fall season for new musicals"

Certainly not, the only one I have enjoyed so far was "Verge"...that is probably a bad sign.

Maybe, hopefully this can last past Jan. 2. I get back in town the 3rd.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

I know I'm being optimistic, but maybe Motherf**ker with the Hat postponed. I find it weird that a show that has announced a theater has yet to post any ticket prices or been on sale. A show that has already has prices up without a theater is kind of weird, to me. So maybe, it is going into the Schoenfeld

Most shows traditionally didn't run more than one or two seasons unless they were huge monster hits. That trend really began in the 1980s. Of course most shows back then could actually recoup if they ran only one season...

The good news is that at least nowadays no Broadway theatre sits empty for very long.

Nice poking around- that's a pretty deep find. Sad to see both these shows go. Neither was a masterpiece, but both were daring and innovative nights at the theatre.

Not suprising, but still sad. While I loved the show on and off bway, most of us didn't think it had any real staying power. I think it may have had a longer life as an open ended off b'way show.

I would say it WILL hold on for a January closing.

Tom: January is a VERY common month for closings -- they hold on to make as much money as possible through the holiday season and cut loose before the lean months of Jan-March.
