So I bought a ticket to the first preview of "Hamilton" back in March when they had the pop up box office at the Marriott. I paid using cash. I remember returning home and putting the ticket in my room. Since then I have absolutely NO idea where the ticket is!! I've turned my entire house upside down looking for it.
I'm like 99% sure I remember which seat I had, but is there any way to track this with Ticketmaster or does it seem like I am SOL?

Contact Ticketmaster or the box office by phone. Did they take your name when you purchased the ticket?

Hmm. Definitely worth it to try and call.

I've lost tickets to shows a number of times and they always are able to print out a new one at the box office.

If you bought it at the box office, you need to work with the box office....however, having paid cash is going to make it very difficult as there is no trail. I doubt there is anything Ticketmaster can do since you didn't buy through them. I've certainly had tix replaced, but having used a credit card.
Good luck.

Back in the height of Phantom hysteria I lost a pair of tickets while walking thru Times Square - my name was on the ticket - I was told as far as the theater was concerned physical possession trumped my printed name. The folks who arrived with the tickets said they bought them from someone outside the theater who couldn't use them. The house manager said we could involve the police but that didn't seem like it would go anywhere with 10 minutes to curtain. The house manager offered us another pair of seats further back on the side. Work with the theater I am sure if no one shows up to sit in that seat that day they will let you take it.

I misplaced a ticket once but i had remembered where I was sitting = seat number and all. The box office just had an usher on the alert and when no one showed up for my seat before show time, I was allowed to sit there...with a agreement that if someone showed up with my ticket, I would have to leave. They were extremely nice about it...and of course, I was extremely nice (and not demanding) about asking.
And of course, I found my ticket two weeks later...

I bought a Wicked ticket with cash once, but the day of the show, when I got to the theater I couldn't find it in my bag. I went to the box office and I told them I misplaced my ticket and gave the date/day and time that I purchased it. They tried to look it up but they couldn't find the transaction. However, I remember the seat number so they gave me one of the seat slips that they use for lost tickets and I was good to go.
If you can, go by the box office now and see if they can look it up via the date/day and time you purchased the ticket as well as the seat number. Doesn't hurt to try. Good luck.

I will echo those who had said that buying with a credit card is easier to replace than buying with cash, but it's worth talking with them and seeing what they have to say and what they can do.
I remember a good while back I saw Rent on a very windy evening. I had gotten a standing room ticket and it blew away the moment I got to the corner. After making a bee line to the theatre and being informed that the box office couldn't help me, I waited to speak with the house manager. I told her I was in standing room and she told me to wait till closer to showtime. The box office had informed her that all the standing room spots were sold. So, when it was five to eight, she put two and two together, realizing that, even though all the SRO spots were sold and there was one open, that that was the one I bought, and let me in no problem. Granted it was frustrating and annoying especially not knowing if I was going to get in to see the show that I had paid money for, but it all worked out in the end. To be honest, it's worth a shot.
