So was this recorded or did this all turn out to be a scam (I get this based on a few postings on here saying that the recording rumors were false)? I took a week off from this board and think I missed something. Could someone clear this up for me?
Apparently, it was off than on.

There was some suggestion that they would record 7/15.
Any word?
I need a definitive Yes or No answer this is driving me insane!!
It was recorded today by Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight.
Thanks for the info, Smaxie! That's amazing news.

Really? This was recorded? How exciting. I didn't know. I thought it was a done deal that it wasn't being recorded. This is the sort of thing that seemed perfect for NonSuch, but oh well. Beggars can't be choosers.

Initial plans to record after the day it closed were scrapped but it was rumored that they would record the show today and I guess they were true.
It would be great if they restored the chunk they edited out of "Surabaya Johnny" in the actual show...and it'd be even greater if they added "Pirate Jenny" as a bonus track for kicks.
I can't wait to hear "Tango Ballad," "Speak Low," and "Surabaya Johnny" again.
That's hot.

Double post out of sheer excitement!
Oh, Rockabye, you can say that again
I'm jumping up and down with glee, while practicing my German accent.
Wunderbar.

Oh hep, you are not alone. I have been struggling to actually pronounce "w's" like w's and not like "v's." Occasionally I'll say something like "Vonderful" and "vest" instead of "west" and have gotten some very odd looks.

Wunderbar!
Cheesy, I know.
I've been singing 'Speak Low' in the shower. Sad isn't it?
I wait, darling, I wait...
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Now every time I sing "Surabaya Johnny" I sing "Ven I look at myself in tze mirroh..." And I already have a Spanish accent when I speak so it makes for quite an interesting take on the song
...vill you speak low to me...

Oh Ray, you must record your Spa-rman version of Surabaya Johnny. It's for the good of humanity.
Speak love to me and soon.....

Whew. I can now oficially be excited about this. I didn't want to get my hopes up before anything was certain.
I've had that Alabama song in my head ever since I saw the show. Brilliant.
