heh, strikes me as a pretty trippy show altogether. Maybe it's not all supposed to make sense. :-P
Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on."
- from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
I guess it isn't really lyrics because they're spoken words in the middle of the song, but I don't like this line from Fire Within Me from Little Women:
"Only Beth, sitting contended, said in a tone so sweet even angels would have listened"
I don't get it. Of course, angels would listen to Beth because they are good by nature. It would make more sense to me if she said: "even the devil would listen"
Maybe it means she was so good she could have directed the angels. *shrugs* I dunno. But that line always makes me cry. I think it's the way Sutton delievers it all weepy-sounding. *tears up*
Speaking of LW, it always bugs me when in "Our Finest Dreams" Jo says, "but we must promise, no matter whatever happens". UGH! Make it "no matter what happpens" or "whatever happens" but NOT both!
