Will anyone be at the final performance? I know they pulled a lot of seats but I believe there were some seats available to the public. If anyone is there, let me know how it is!
P.S. THE OTHER PLACE and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF also close today.

Posted: 3/3/13 at 9:21amI never got a chance to see it, because I always figured it be around for at least a decade like LION KING. I was wrong, and seriously regret it. Does anyone know if the tour is still going? I might wanna catch that.

Posted: 3/3/13 at 11:32amI think it's my favorite show Disney has done (excluding Starcatcher if you count that), especially before the changes. I got really used to walking by the marquee every day. Hopefully Aladdin will live up to it.

^agreed! I saw it twice on tour (the first time with Ashley Brown & Gavin Lee at the Ahmanson.) If anyone is at the last performance, let us know what it's like & if any former cast members are there. I loved Mr. & Mrs. Banks' story, Mary's hilarious tartness, Bert's ceiling dance & of course Mary's goodbye at the end.
Glad it had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious run! Brava!

Posted: 3/3/13 at 1:09pmI really do hope that 'Aladdin' turns out to be a great show. The last time Disney closed one show to make room for another they made a mistake. 'Beauty and the Beast' was such a timeless show and 'The Little Mermaid' was just a mess. Sierra Boggess and Sherie Rene Scott were the only great things about it.

Mary Poppins was my second Broadway show. Minus the pointless toy scene, it was fantastic! I wish everyone luck.
By the way, I did heard Little Mermaid was a huge mess. One of these people were my cousin. Not to switch topics, but why are people hating TLM? From what I've seen, it looked fine.

Posted: 3/3/13 at 2:49pmI actually fell asleep when I saw it back home in England. Never had done that before. It's just one I wasn't fond of. But I will say that I am shocked at the closing because I can definitely see the appeal it holds for many, many people."Goodbye Mary Poppins. Don't stay away too long!"

Posted: 3/3/13 at 2:51pmAside from the fun songs, great performances and touching story, Poppins is one of those shows with a set that has to be seen on Broadway. The tour sets were wonderful in their own right but nowhere near as magical as that on Broadway. And sadly one we won't likely see on stage again in future revivals.

Posted: 3/3/13 at 2:51pmI would say, "don't take Ambien before a show" but imagine the fun if people did.

Posted: 3/3/13 at 3:07pmI loved the national tour in Los Angeles - a great, traditional family musical with fantastic production numbers really nice music, and one of my favorite finales of all time. It's a shame to see it go, but I'm excited for Aladdin!

Posted: 3/3/13 at 3:11pmDefinitely the best thing Disney ever produced. I saw it back when it first opened and absolutely loved it. I don't know if I'd think the same thing seeing it today, but I'll have nothing but fond memories of this show and will miss it.

"#22 longest running Broadway show"
Well sitting there watching it, it felt like the longest show I'd ever seen.
