I was at this performance and it was a pretty cool moment. You could see everyone on the stage was in the moment and appeared genuinely happy and appreciative of the love they were being given- which was well deserved. My first time being at a show on the day of Tony noms and a pretty cool experience.

Lindsay Mendez on Having Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff in Her Wedding (Exclusive

Obviously very happy for her, but for all those annoyed at those complaining about the lack of transparency for ticket buyers - what if she started maternity leave now, no more performances, and yet all the ads continued to promote the three Tony nominees, with the press refusing to point it out? Just asking.

Jonathan Groff is fine not fitting in: 'Being gay has allowed me to forge my own path'
From the beginning, people have been trying to twist this Lindsay Mendez conversation into something it's not. It's always been in regard to her above-the-title status, and the lack of transparency from the production when it was clear that many of her absences were planned, with no effort made to inform ticket buyers ahead of time so that they could make other arrangements if they wanted to. That's it.
I don't recall ever seeing anyone blaming her, or expecting some kind of explanation from her personally. Keeping a tally of her absences is a little odd, but it does show how many opportunities the production has had to announce that she'll be out of a performance, yet never has. Once again, the only reason this is a valid discussion is because she's above the title, as well as the fact that she's doing tons of press as an essential part of the main trio. All this talk about how she's not a draw anyway and no one cares is irrelevant, as is saying it's none of our business, because as ticket buyers who are entitled to refunds if she's out, it kind of is.

For all of the faux "outrage" over Lindsey's missed performances (and the trolls who are keeping score), where is all of that outrage over Lorna Courtney's attendance in & JULIET?
From the Tour's own press release:
Rachel Webb, who made her Broadway debut covering the title role in & Juliet, will lead the North American tour of the show. Webb performed the role of Juliet 148 times while covering for Tony nominee Lorna Courtney (recently replaced by Maya Boyd).
Compared to Ms. Courtney, I'd say Mendez is a workhorse!

What don't people understand about being above the title? Was Lorna above the title; if she was, then I'm gravely mistaken. I thought Taffy made it clear above about the issues with the producers not being transparent about Lindsay's scheduled absences.
Btw, I have never discussed or been "outraged" about Lindsay's absences. In fact, she was the highlight of the show for me when I luckily caught all three leads back in Feb.

There will be a performance from Merrily on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' next Monday. There hasn't been a live performance from anyone in the cast yet to promote the show (presumably it may have to be postponed if Lindsay Mendez isn't well enough).

Lana wasn't above the title, but, like I said, people love to keep talking for no reason.

Groff, Radcliffe and Mendez are performing on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' tonight (Monday). It will probably be 'Old Friends'.

And as is often the case, you would be wrong.
& Juliet started nearly a full year before Merrily did. If Courtney was out 148 times in the 20 months she was with the show, that's an average of 7.4 shows per month.
According to the tally on the last page, Mendez had already hit 66 absences by late April after 6 months of performances. That's an average of 11 shows per month that she missed.
Some workhorse.

A must watch. The Chocolate Factory 2012 production. Same director, staging, set design and concept. A handsome leading man and talented female lead. Filmed with a live audience so some of the acting feels a little pushed at times and some accents are over the top but the production has the clarity of the current Broadway production. Preferred Radcliffe for he was more endearing. Groff was a stronger actor but Mark Umbers is impressive. Enjoy!

'Merrily' they sang along to 'Old Friends' on late-night TV: Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez have done a ton of interviews together, but I think this is the first time they've performed a ''Merrily'' song on TV.

I’m gonna need this “Old Friends” performed on the Tonys with this cast and the originals for a full-circle moment. Get on that, Merrily people!
