It is quite weird how one person has been obsessively tracking all of Mendez´s appearances.

If by "weird" you mean informative and interesting, then sure.

I'm pretty sure that by "weird" they meant creepy and stalker-ish.

as has been repeated ad nauseum here, no one has criticized Lindsay Mendez for being ill, or being busy, or whatever, the only issue has been her and the production's decision to simply pretend nothing was wrong. this is the first im hearing about any injury, and you casually stating it as if its known fact, is silly.

Yes, because aside from those attending the performance that night, actors/productions should always broadcast to the nosy general public when actors will miss a performance. Seriously guys. Get a life.

If a production uses an actor's name to promote that production - as is the case here - is it wrong to point out that the actor doesn't appear in a significant number of performances?

Of course not. There are people who just keep slamming their heads against the wall out of some sense of loyalty to Mendez, insisting that if 1/3 of the forcefully advertised trio is out of the show 1/3 of the time, its nobody's business. Technically correct, but disappointing all the same. I'm guessing this is more on the producers than on Mendez but its not a good look.
and as ive said, also many times, her understudy was wonderful. im glad i got to see her.

Congrats to her!
Maybe this will quell the "but why???" people's feelings.
Regarding the production - they would have to completely renegotiate all 3 actors' contracts to take her below the title and out of advertising - which is probably why nothing changed in regard to advertising (because it's contractual and contingent on other factors, like if Actor A is listed, Actor B must be and if A nd B are, then that triggers C).

I saw today's matinee performance and there was a technical glitch a minute or two before the end of Act One. During one of the last choruses of "Now You Know," when Jonathan Groff was at the front of the stage with the rest of the cast behind him, the stage curtain slowly began to fall. He looked back when the curtain was about 4 feet from hitting the stage and ducked back under it.
After the curtain came down, it took about a minute for the house lights to come up. Many people thought it was intermission and got up to do their thing. After another few minutes, the stage manager announced that there was a technical issue and that the performance would start in a few minutes, which turned out to be about fifteen. They restarted the last chorus and finished the act.
The intermission was then very long - about 40 minutes. The performance started at 1:00 and didn't end until about 4:20.
Of course I'd love to know what went wrong, if anyone has any ideas. It's obviously not a tech-heavy show. I did see some fiddling with the stairs on stage right after the curtain came up again, so maybe it had to do with that, but if this issue was fixed for the end of the first act then I'm not sure why intermission was so long.
The unique excitement of live theater strikes again!

Just walked past the Hudson. AMV truck was parked outside. Likely getting filmed tonight for Lincoln Center Archives.

On the HudsonBroadway app, if you select tomorrow's performance, you have to acknowledge knowing that Daniel Radcliffe is not performing before selecting a seat. Also, the top ticket is $252.
Tuesday the 9th the top ticket is $364.
Imagine if they respected their audience for all three leads this way. And imagine if the media that covers Broadway would point this out if they didn't.

If only there were differences...... Like Radcliffe's being a pre-planned absence? Naw, that couldn't possibly have anything to do with it

What?! You're not Sirius. Yes, they are: Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe & Lindsay Mendez did a fun panel about ''Merrily'' for SiriusXM, joined by Krystal Joy Brown, Katie Rose Clarke and Reg Rogers, and hosted by Seth Rudetsky.

I returned to the Hudson last Wednesday night through TDF for one of the performances without Daniel Radcliffe. Figured I'd post a little report for anyone considering going to a no-Radcliffe performance when it's more affordable.
Koray Tarhan was on for Charley and I enjoyed his performance! He reads as visibly younger than the other two, so he reads more like Frank's younger brother who eventually realizes his pal's not all he's cracked up to be. Because of that dynamic, he was stronger in act two. Now, If you’re only going to see Merrily once I’d see Radcliffe if you can since it’s hard to match his precision, especially in Franklin Shepard Inc., and spot-on comic timing. The usual trio is magic together. But even if you miss Radcliffe, you’re still seeing a top-drawer, well-directed Merrily with outstanding performances.
I haven’t posted my thoughts about the show on here before—and I won't go on, since this been open for months and y'all know it's good already—but I love this production. Maria Friedman’s Huntington production was my first exposure to Merrily and I previously saw the NY iteration at NYTW and the first Broadway preview. I’d gladly see this production again and again if it wasn’t as pricey as it is. Merrily has such high rewatch value for me since it's interesting to focus on different relationships and dynamics each time. This time I focused more on the Frank and Mary relationship and god, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez are just so good. I'd be overjoyed to see them win Tonys for this. Mendez’s Mary really is the beating heart of this show, the glue friend at the center of the trio, and wow does she sing the hell out of Now You Know. Pure brass. And I could rave about Groff’s performance, which still feels fresh and layered. He may have even gotten better, and he was already giving a must-see performance. I can’t imagine a better Frank.
Well worth a return trip if it pops up on TDF again! And even if it doesn't. It's nice to take a break from the busy spring season and revisit an old friend.

AND his being a box office attraction, which LM -- as good as she is in the show -- is decidedly not.
