Still to play the Neil Simon Theatre. I actually feel somewhat confident they will be able to start previews then, if not a bit later. Even before the shutdown, MJ wasn't receiving a lot of hype though... it could either be a "Thriller" or pretty "Bad."

Actually I am amazed in the world we live in today that they would go ahead and have a "Michael Jackson" show on Broadway.

It’ll “turn out” fine. He made some of the best music ever written so people will still go see it.

Will Jackson turn out to be the music world’s Woody Allen (his scandal is the first and foremost thing about him in popular imagination), or the music world’s Roman Polanski (the titanic accomplishment of his body of work JUST manages to overshadow his acknowledged scandal in the public eye years later)?

Neither. There was a lot of interest in this before Covid and most people I talked to about it/read comments online never believed or cared about those unemployed, unsuccessful men needing money anyways.

I just cringed at the idea of someone acting like Michael Jackson. There’s just no way it doesn’t come off funny or gimmicky. Same with the Cher Show. Block was great but it felt a little off. Should have just been a jukebox.

My parents saw Ain't Too Proud last November, and came back having really liked Ephraim Sykes (I saw him in a couple of his other shows). Looking forward to hearing how he does in MJ.
