Mockingbird is re-opening in June. Doubtfire is supposed to be re-opening in April.

Someone posted an unsubstantiated rumor here that Mockingbird is not going to reopen, and Girl From The North Country will reopen at the Belasco in April. I believe the marquee is still up at the Belasco.
If Mockingbird is in fact reopening, then the only remotely appropriate theatre for GIRL is the Broadhurst, and even that is a little too big. And the Broadhurst is said to have another tenant for the fall (Almost Famous) so it would not be able to have a long run.
Hopefully we will know either way soon, because the shows need to start selling tickets for the reopenings.

I posted one of the two posts spreading the unsubstantiated rumor, mine coming from someone peripherally involved with one of the two shows. Apologies if that felt unfairly vague. Cold these situations be fluid? It's mid-March, and the Mockingbird website still isn't selling tickets to the show's return at the Belasco. Perhaps in the new world order advance sales aren't as advance as they once were. But isn't March a time to encourage booking for summer? North Country is still promising a return on Instagram and its website. So we have no news to offset the absence of sales for either show. One might guess that Mockingbird, a proven hit once, is closer to the sure thing. But it's Broadway in 2022; there are no sure things.

There are no sure things. I've always thought it was foolish to move/reopen GIRL; just cut the losses & close it. It would probably only run through end of summer in the absolute best case scenario. As for MOCKINGBIRD, it needs a box office star, and those are hard to come by as the third replacement. Greg Kinnear is not a money name who people will go out of their way to see.

Based on postings on this board, it seems only two performances got to see Greg Kinnear anyway, with Christopher Innvar on as Atticus for reasons unknown for the rest of the run.
I’d rather North Country come back than Mockingbird, even if it only lasts a little while. But that’s more of a personal bias

I saw Innvar the frigid closing weekend Saturday matinee. He was persuasive and wonderful. (Sidebar: the original Floyd Collins; who remembers?)

Correct. (I believe the reason is that Kinnear had COVID)
But Kinnear is not a money name, and we knew that from the time he was announced pre-COVID. Especially when the core ticket-buying audience already paid to see it with Jeff Daniels or Ed Harris (possibly twice with Daniels). Kinnear may have an Oscar nom, but he's not someone who mass audiences are going to go out of their way to see if they already saw the play.

A casting call posted today states Girl From the North Country will recommence rehearsals on April 4, and reopen once again in mid-to-late April.
Given how soon this is, I would assume the show is staying at the Belasco. Mockingbird’s future in NY is in doubt.

I had tickets to see TKAMB in March 2020 when Ed Harris was performing. Out of all the shows I missed during that time, it’s still the one that hurts the most. Not sure if he’s still willing or able but I’m willing to break the bank for that one!

Although the show's website and social media accounts still say that it's reopening at the Belasco on 6/1, that information has been removed from its Telecharge page.

Didn’t some of the Broadway company go to the tour? Seems odd they would move to tour and recast for the Broadway show if it was only closing for a short period of time.

Not a peep out of this show since they announced hiatus... What's going on?
GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY closes June 11 at the Belasco, so if this is to reopen it probably couldn't do so until mid-July at the earliest.

It’s not coming back. Multiple Broadway cast members went to the touring production and there’s been zero news regarding it.
Greg Kinnear is working into work TV series, one of which was just renewed for a second season. So all of their advertising with his name would have to be scrapped, and it’ll be more trouble than it’s worth at the end of the day. There’s enough shows circling the theater district for them to move aside.
I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.
