With the event approaching soon, do we have any thoughts on what shows will be performing in the parade this year. Pippin and Matilda are scheduled to perform on CBS. What do we think will be performing on NBC?
For starters, I think it's plainly obvious that "Aladdin" will be performing. I believe there is the possibility that "Beautiful" or "On the Town" may do something. But I'm really not sure about any others.

On the Town will probably do "New York, New York"
Beautiful will probably do "I Feel the Earth Move" (and I bet if they can get Carole King again they will)
I think Aladdin will probably do "Friend Like Me" or "Prince Ali"
Pippin will do "Magic to Do" probably
and I think Matilda might do "When I Grow Up"

I'll be upset if MATILDA's filming will be in the Shubert and they don't do "When I Grow Up." Definitely one of the most beautiful moments in the show and they will have access to the swings. Seems like a no-brainer.
I could definitely see:
Aladdin-Prince Ali
Beautiful-On Broadway/I Feel the Earth Move
Cabaret-Wilkommen
Gentleman's Guide-I've Decided to Marry You
Les Miserables-One Day More
On the Town-New York, New York
Maybe:
Honeymoon in Vegas (Sneak Peak)
The King & I (Sneak Peak)
The Last Ship
Side Show
PIPPIN did "Magic to Do" last year. Maybe "Extraordinary" or "Simple Joys"??
After the whole Kinky Boots brouhaha last year, despite it being completely dumb, I don't see them having "Hedwig" or "Cabaret" perform. It'd be fantastic if "Hedwig" did but I highly doubt it.
I would think that Cabaret would want to showcase Emma Stone, maybe singing "Maybe This Time" or "Cabaret".
It was just posted on Playbill that Pippin and Matilda will be performing.

Yes about Emma Stone..if she is willing to do it.
And YES about "When I Grow UP" for Matilda, because it was NOT done last year for NBC and it's such a great moment in the theater. But I would hope they would be able to incorporate the New Newtilda's somehow as well..maybe a shortened version of Naughty as well?

There will probably be a sneak peek performance of Peter Pan Live as well.
What happened with kinky boots last year?
Apparently the Thanksgiving Day Parade is a family program... So no drag queens. A lot of people were really nasty about it on Twitter. I thought the whole thing was stupid. It's 2014 for God's sake. Its not like they were doing anything sexual. It was just drag queens being drag queens.

"There will probably be a sneak peek performance of Peter Pan Live as well."
I imagine that there will be a preview for that since there was one for 'The Sound of Music Live' last year. I'm not sure if they will have Williams perform though. Last year, they wanted Carrie Underwood and most of the cast to stay healthy for the broadcast, which wasn't too far away from Thanksgiving.
I remember all the hate after Kinky Boots performed. Twitter was blowing up with tweets like "Fags before noon? NO THANKS!" and "What am I supposed to tell my kids? That it's ok to dress up like a girl when you're a boy?"
I feel like there's a possibility that Idina will perform a song from her Christmas album. Not an If/Then performance, but it seems like a kinda obvious choice.
PIppin will probably do "Simple Joys" and possibly and snippet of "On the right track". Matilda will probably do and mashup of once again "Revolting Children" and "When I grow up". Assuming Beautiful is performing I can bet on "I feel the earth move" and Aladdin doing "Friend Like Me" I don't know if AGGTLAM will bother doing something, since I really can't imagine that attracting families. And finally I would love is SideShow would do "Come look at the freaks"

I guess that's why Miss Trunchbull was not headlined in last year's parade...LOL The funniest comment was some some group of mothers who were appalled that NBC would support RuPaul at the parade..... HA!
Because we parents can always schedule when it's a good time to talk to kids??...Funny, I always thought ANYTIME was a good time to talk to kids. I have to give it to Macy's ..they didn't back down one bit. I went shopping there the next day!
Matilda did Revolting Children last year. I hope they do something else.

Yes, and as a real "f*ck you" to the bigots, Stark and Billy went shopping at Macy's between shows in full costume! Love.
I hope none of the shows that performed last year perform this year. It's not necessary. Give the newcomers a chance.

Right..NBC that has the official telecast of the Macy's Parade has only showcased new shows each other.
CBS has the secondary telecast and they don't telecast any shows at the parade..they usually do a cut-away and show something pre-taped at a theater. I don't care if they repeat shows there - if a last year's show wants to advertize and show off their show in a way they can't at the parade and are willing to spend the bucks to do it..good for them.
It was recently announced that Idina Menzel and Sting are scheduled to perform. I'm wondering if they will perform with their respective show or on a float. My guess is a float.
Idina would probably be more interested in doing a float and singing a song from her holiday album, I would imagine.
