A revival already? Wasn't there one like 3 years ago?

How big is this production going to be? They must have a Clooney-level star if they are going to put another play in the Winter Garden.

Also, this is going to mark the fourth revival in roughly 25 years, the second in this decade? What’s going to make this production any more special or different than the previous ones?

I just said in the new musicals thread: if it's the rumored Rudin revival with Lane and Metcalf, that would be foolish to take the Winter Garden.

Also, I think the Majestic is going to have a struggle staying full going forth. PHANTOM kept the doors open for 35 years, but then after a renovation and the GYPSY revival flopping, I can’t imagine there are many productions that are actively looking to fill a 1600-seat theatre, and if so, then why not going for a more modern facility like the Marquis or the Palace?

Whatever happened to the rumor a British play would be taking the Winter Garden ?

And isn’t the Jones still open in the spring ?

Not the spring, but I'd love to see PHANTOM return to the Majestic next fall if they don't add more tour dates.

British play had a scheduling issue with talent. Looks like Rudin is getting the winter garden for a Nathan Lane play.

Majestic will have Paddington later next year.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

That feels like a cop out, especially since it’s a stripped down version of the show and we’ve already had the discourse of tours dropping themselves on Broadway as a cheapskate producer’s move.

As for EVITA, ALW pushed off CATS so SUNSET could get the revival attention, so it would not make sense to bring in another of his revivals to compete with the one that would literally be next door. Also, the outside segment needs to be figured out since it’s likely a safety issue to have her go out on a fire escape and stand there singing like a sitting duck. (With Sunset, Tom was on the move and surrounded by security.)

This did cross my mind too, but Paddington is done by Sonia Friedman and she is very loyal to ATG, so would’ve thought Paddington would end up in the Lyric or St James.
