She was REAL Broadway talent.
I first saw her in ORPHEUS DESCENDING and was shocked years later to see her in a musical! And stopping the show no less.
They don't make 'em like Marcia Lewis anymore.

Posted: 12/21/10 at 5:41pmThe news of her passing makes me very sad. I first saw her as Fraulein Schneider in the national tour of CABARET with Joel Grey, and almost 10 years later I saw her on Broadway in CHICAGO. She was a radiant performer with a big voice, which we will be able to enjoy for years to come on her great solo recording. Rest in peace.

So sad.
I always wished I had seen her as Mama in Chicago.
RIP.

Posted: 12/21/10 at 6:48pmI hope she's livin' it up in the great beyond. I'll never forget being 15 and her winking at me during "When You're Good to Mama" as I sat in the front row.

I've been a fan of hers ever since she replaced Mary Jo Catlett in the original DOLLY! She was also an impressive Winifred in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS in a dinner theater out here on Long Island.
May she rest in peace.

Posted: 12/21/10 at 10:40pmWas at The Saturday matinee of "Grease" when the show was stopped and Rosie in tears came out in front of the curtain and announced that Marcia had fallen through a trap door on the stage. After a long intermission, the show continued and I'll be damned if she didn't finish the show. And her drunk Miss Lynch was hilarious. At the 'Grease" Cast album record signing, I asked how she was doing and she told me she was still going to a Chiropractor and would for awhile. A real talent and a real trouper.

Listen to Three Sunny Rooms from RAGS to
see how truly gifted a singer/comedian and actress
she is in one song she shows the triple threat she was
Loved her in RAGS and in CHICAGO...She was in a class with Dorothy Loudon..truly gifted

Posted: 12/23/10 at 8:34pmAwwww I'll never forget meeting her at the stage door after Chicago back in 1997 and I just told her how much I enjoyed the show and her performance, and she just smiled and said "When your good to mama, mama's good to you" and she gave me a big hug and kiss. Rest in peace!
