They ARE casting for the tour, so that audition doesn't mean it is specifically for Broadway.

i'm having a flashback to jai rodriguez saying in an interview that he was offered a chance to replace hugh jackman in boy from oz. in other words, just because a performer throws somethiung out there doesn't make it entirely true. i'd rather see mario lopez tackle billy flynn.

He is a good dancer, and it's not like the cast of ACL are the greatest singers in the world, I think he could tackle it if he worked his backside off.

It just amazes me that so many people think Mario would be able to handle the VERY specific choreography in ACL. Learning a couple of ballroom dances doesn't come close to the YEARS of training that are needed to perform ACL.

I wouldn't be as worried about whether he could do the part (whatever it is), as I would be about him pulling focus. It's such an ensemble piece of equals, I think it would be just be distracting having a "celebrity" in the line. Maybe it would work for Zach, but none of the others.

Celebrities have never been in A Chorus Line and it'll never happen. Unless you include Bebe Neuwirth, but she did ACL before she got famous. The only "star" that could tackle ACL is Paige Davis who did Val in an Austin production.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Hey ACL.... I saw that ACL Austin production in Sept. 2000. from RC in Austin, Texas

I say no too. The show is the star itself. This show should make people stars not the other way around. If they do go about casting him, then they should make him Al and have the song change were he is the one that can't sing and Kristine the one that sing...but that will just not make sense...but could work...

I'm fairly sure Mario has studied dance in the past. I know that before he landed the role on Saved By the Bell, he was a dancer.

Whatever, he's gorgeous either way. I say bring on the spandex.

Alison was the little girl in Curly Sue, among other films.

Also, Deidre Goodwin was in the movie Chicago as a dancer in Cell Block Tango.

Deidre Goodwin's been working on Broadway BEFORE the film-version of CHICAGO came out. She was in the original casts of the recent revivals of: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE.

In fact, she was a resident Velma Kelly fill-in (opposite resident Roxie Hart fill-in Belle Calaway) for some time in the Broadway revival of CHICAGO and all this BEFORE she did the film-version of CHICAGO.

Here she is along with Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones and Belle Calaway:

I remember an interview where Elizabeth Berkley mentioned doing a production of Gypsy with Mario Lopez before they were cast in SAVED BY THE BELL.

I can't see him as Paul. Can he handle a 10 minute monologue anyway? Zach has lots of lines, too. I'm sure Larry would be fine for him, if he can dance.
