Posted: 4/14/08 at 11:27amHas there been any actual confirmation on Berresse coming back for the 3 weeks? The only place I've heard it mentioned is here.

Posted: 4/14/08 at 11:31amNick Adams doesn't cover Zach. I'd be interested to go back and see him if he does.

Posted: 4/14/08 at 11:37amBah, I meant Grant Turner (For some reason, I get those two confused.)...assuming he's still in the show.

Ha, I didn't even think about that (still curious as to what happened that the show couldn't start at first). I think Jessica's in the show until July, so you're safe.
The captions on those pictures are all messed up...

Ahh, okay. That's good. I liked him as Zach.

"Lopez may be good enough for Dancing with the Stars, but I highly doubt he's taken years and years of ballet and jazz classes that are normally a requirement of anyone appearing in a professional production of ACL."
Actually, I believe Mario has had dance training before, specifically in ballet. I'll have to find that out for sure, but I'm pretty sure I heard this somewhere.
Didn't you ever see him dance in Saved by the Bell? In the first episode, and also the episode where he tries to win Jesse back after they argued about where to go on their first date? Granted, it wasn't the best dancing, but still.

Yup. Seems Mario Lopez has taken control over this thread as several posts have been deleted.
Hmmm.
Its either La Lopez or could be Karina Smirnoff.
re: Mario Lopez in A CHORUS LINE? #112
Posted: 4/14/08 at 1:18pmI blame Karina.

Paul? really? you think he has the ability to deliver that scene and make people really feel what he is saying?? seriously?

:)

"Paul? really? you think he has the ability to deliver that scene and make people really feel what he is saying?? seriously?"
He couldn't even play AC Slater convincingly, so he certainly can't handle Paul. I'm surprised he's playing Zack...considering Charlotte is noticeably older it would be difficult to buy that he made HER a star.

re: Mario Lopez in A CHORUS LINE? #118
Posted: 4/14/08 at 3:43pmI feel that Mario is too young for the role, and I think people who don't know the show, and go to see him will feel cheated by the lack of stage time he has. However, I do believe he can handle the dancing. Im just sorry he didnt take the role of Paul,...He has the acting chops for it, and I would think he would have been considered perfect for that role.
re: Mario Lopez in A CHORUS LINE? #119
Posted: 4/14/08 at 3:53pmPersonally, if they had to put him in the show, he is more suited to play Al. There is no way he would make a good Paul. But as Paul at least he would rightfully belong at the front of the line in the finale as opposed to his diva-like tantrums to force the other actors into the background because they take the attention away from him.

I am not a fan of stunt casting, but at least he can dance. I think its totally assine when they cast people in shows who admitt they can't even sing or dance. Much like Harry Hamlin said about being cast in CHICAGO...That show is all about STUNT CASTING of people that should NEVER be on a Broadway stage.
I will agree however with the posts that say A CHORUS LINE is a ENsemble show, and should not have "STARS" in it. But imagine how many people will see a Broadway show for the first time just to see Mario Lopez, and then become a fan of A CHORUS LINE, and other Broadway shows? That you can't put a price on. So hopefully it will work out for all concerned.

"But imagine how many people will see a Broadway show for the first time just to see Mario Lopez"
I can't imagine it would be that many (about as many as flocked to see Harry Hamlin in Chicago). His appeal is very limited, and other than those avid fans of Saved By the Bell and the curiosity seekers of Dancing with Celebrities (or whatever it's called), no one's ever heard of him.
