Just saw the closing performance of STEVE and I loved it. There were some problem areas with the script (I felt like any scene Carrie was in was underwritten in a way, as if the playwright wasn't sure how to make a woman funny). But the standout for me was McGrath. I just love all of his choices and interesting takes on things. I saw him Georgia McBride downtown and found him to be a revelation. I hope he continues to get more work, and was astounded to see he's only been on Broadway in two shows. Someone get this man a comedy! I think his character in Georgia McBride needs a spin off of her own.

I wonder if this is the same MATT McGRATH I remember being in the PETER PAN tour with Sandy Duncan back in the 80s.

^ It is. Matt appeared in Peter Pan on Broadway and on tour in the early 1980s, with Sandy Duncan and George Rose.
Easily the most underrated of the Hedwigs. Saw him shine in a Pinter one-act as well. Terribly gifted performer.
Ad he was the EMCEE in Cabaret, for which I'm sure he was incredible.
But I just want to see him do a new role on Broadway.
He was equally as brilliant in The Black Rider. ,Agreed about his Hedwig. A truly gifted performer!
Yeah, he was great in both Georgia and Steve... sad I never saw his Hedwig.
He was in two of my top shows of the year (VERITE, STEVE) and GEORGIA MCBRIDE was a close runner-up. Can't wait to see him again.
He's got something else in the works! In fact, two things. I asked him how he would be able to do both, and he gave me a wink so he's not too worried about it. I couldn't be happier about his much-too-longtime -coming recognition.
I though Matt McGrath was Michael McGrath.

I'm so sorry I missed Georgia McBride. He was a wonderful Hedwig though. I caught his performance closing weekend.
If you need a little Matt McGrath fix, he's in a film called "Broken Hearts Club". It's a romantic comedy. It's charming, I really like it.
For those who remember Boys Don't Cry, Matt had a small role as Brandon's uncle whom he had lived with for a while.
