From what I've read here, she doesn't come out after matinees...did you go to a mat or evening shows?
Evening, both times. The first time, she may have come out and I had already left, which is possible, but the second time we asked the guy and he said she wasn't coming out and I still waited a bit and she didn't come out. I was the last person to leave. It's not a big deal or anything, but I just wanted to tell her how great I think she it.
Hmmm...that's too bad. I wonder why she doesn't come out?
It WAS cold both times, and last Saturday it was FREEZING. That might have something to do with it. Oh well, if I ever see her on the street (yeah right!like that's gonna happen) I will compliment her.
That makes sense. You could write her a letter though...

But she must come out! She doesn't actually live in the theatre, does she?!
How do you know, Ellie? Really, how do you know?

Ok, she does, she does...*trembles at Rath's wrath*
Maureen is actually not a real person but a magical being created by the gods of theater to reward us - don't ask for what, that's theirs to know and never to reveal. She doesn't need to sleep, eat, eliminate bodily waste, etc. She only appears each night onstage for the glory of Broadway. And oh, how much better are we for it...
Mia: What have you done to his eyes?!?!
Random Man: He has his father's eyes...
Mia: But Guy's eyes are normal. Ah!!!!
Random Man: Guy isn't his father, Satan is! Hail Satan!
Everyone: Hail Satan!
Mia: AH!!! (screaming and running in the background)
Silly - you meant to post that on the Cheno thread.

Rath - because of this thread I found myself humming "There's got to a morning after..." at 5:00 a.m.
Great song - I've rediscovered it now - isn't the intro fabulous?

It brings back memories of the seeing the Poseidon Adventure as a kid on TV – probably 1975. I do not recall the intro.
It will all come back to you when you hear it again...
Here is a lovely interview which was brought to my attention by LittleFish8386:
Broadway.com Q&A with Maureen
Rath - have you heard the Alan and Marilyn Bergman song that Maureen does called "On My Way to You"? = it is one of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear - and a lot of cabaret performers have started doing it the past few years - but it's gorgeous.
I haven't - and I have a cd of her performing just Bergman songs - for some reason it's not on there...
Speaking of that cd, though, the first time I listened was on the subway, and one of the numbers is It Might Be You, a song I've always loved and listened to by other artists a million times. Well, listening to Maureen do it, my eyes filled with tears, which has never happened upon any other hearing of that song. What is it about her? What does she have?
On My Way To You is a great song - also sung by Streisand on her cd Till I Loved You.
Maureen certainly has a way with phrasing a lyric - and her voice can't be matched on certain levels - You've chosen a wonderful role model (and future wife)...lol...
Thank you - now if only she knew about the future wife part!
if anyone can charm her into it - its YOU. with your Velvet Tongue...lol..
You mean that in a singing context, yes?
She was extraordinary!! Beautiful voice, beautiful presence - simply fabulous! I can't wait to see her again! I just wish that she had more songs so we could hear more of her!
Rath - uh, yeah , uh huh - ah - SURE thats exACTly what I meant....
