You are too good to me, LF. I told you what performance - I met her and could barely speak. I was nervous and my voice trembled. I'm not kidding. My friend was dying - she's never gonna let me live it down! She says Maureen was looking at me like she wanted to say, "Oh, it's okay, honey..." Ick.
Have I ever shown you my Shattered Dreams box? It's in my Disappointment Closet. - Marge Simpson
I came into the thread late and was too lazy to re-read... Aww, trust me! There is a certain someone who I've been going to see in shows sine the age of 9, and I have hardly uttered 5 words to her, b/c of my fear and shock to be in her presence.
Man, I love McGovern's voice. I found the score to be pleasant and enjoyable, but a bit uninspired (like the show itself I guess). I think it'll sound nice on a recording though and I'll gladly add it to my collection. It's one of those OBCs you gotta listen to while doing something as cliched as sitting around a fire on a cold, mellow winter's night while roasting marshmallows. That's the sort of mood you need I think.
We saw the show on Sunday, January 16th and just loved it! The whole cast is superb, but we were especially taken by Maureen McGovern. She is pure grace onstage and has a voice that warms the soul and stirs the heart. My girlfriend and I teared up during her Act I number, "Here Alone" and bawled during her Act II number, "Days of Plenty." To see/hear her performance of these songs and not be moved is near impossible. I certainly hope you get to go see her...you'll be so glad you did.
She did indeed give a beautiful performance when I saw the show back in December. I didn't cry during "Days of Plenty," though. I love her rich, velvet-like tone.
First off, Maureen's voice alone is to die for...but her overall performance was just as outstanding. The more I think about her performance in the show, the more I loved it.
And Rath, you can work up the courage to speak next time you see her. I've got faith in ya.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: you and Maureen will make a lovely couple. If you two crazy kids can work, maybe there's a chance for me and Melissa.
I just bought tickets to see "Little Women" again on February 5, the matinee. Can't wait!
There's got to be a morning after If we can hold on through the night We have a chance to find the sunshine Let's keep on looking for the light
Oh, can't you see the morning after? It's waiting right outside the storm Why don't we cross the bridge together And find a place that's safe and warm?
It's not too late, we should be giving Only with love can we climb It's not too late, not while we're living Let's put our hands out in time
There's got to be a morning after We're moving closer to the shore I know we'll be there by tomorrow And we'll escape the darkness We won't be searching anymore
There's got to be a morning after (There's got to be a morning after) There's got to be a morning after (There's got to be a morning after) There's got to be a morning after (There's got to be a morning after) There's got to be a morning after (There's got to be a morning after)
damn u rathnait!!! because of you i'm listening to her greatest hits right now...i forgot i had it cuz i'm a huge SUPERMAN fan and i got it for her "CAN YOU READ MY MIND"...wish they would've used it in the actual film though.
I saw Maureen in concert in the early 90s in Florida - she was tremendous. I have always loved her voice. Get "Another Woman in Love" if you can find it - that is definitely her best CD release to date.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
