Hi, everyone! Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm going to be in the city April 25-29th. I have tickets for DEH, Hello Dolly, Hamilton (again, bringing the in-laws this time), and War Paint. That leaves me only the Tuesday evening show slot open, and that is one of the days Josh Groban will not be performing in the Great Comet, which I was planning to have fill the last slot. Is it still something that should top the list? I'm also considering Amelie and Bandstand.
I also read somewhere that tickets might be available for some performances of the Mean Girls workshop happening in April. Anyone know anything about where to find out about this or if it is even a possibility?

Well, Groban being out isn't the end of the world, unless you're a fan, especially since the composer of the show, who played Pierre Off-Broadway is on that night... very acceptable trade, IMHO.

I don't remember reading that.

The Mean Girls workshop and readings will not be open to the public.

You should really consider looking into Groundhog day

I say Comet 100%. While I saw it with Groban, I am not a "Grobanite" (I don't dislike him and he has a stellar voice, I just did not see the show because of him). It's a remarkable and unique piece of theater and I would have enjoyed it with or without him. I highly recommend the on-stage banquettes especially if you can get close to the center aisle - for this theater nerd that was a special experience and one you won't get elsewhere! (Other than maybe Sweeney Todd at the Barrow now).

While is great, he doesn't MAKE the show. And as others pointed out, the understudies (in this case the composer) are wonderful as well.

See Great Comet. You won't regret it

I agree that Groban does not make or break Great Comet and you should see it regardless, BUT just to correct the above posters so that you don't get your hopes up, the composer (Dave Malloy) is NOT scheduled for this performance. According to the announcement, he is doing 10 performances all of which are in May and June, none in April.

Ah, sorry I didn't check those dates, just assumed the previous poster was correct.
That being said, Groban's regular understudy played the role in Boston and is excellent as well.

Thanks for the concern, not suffering from a stroke...whew.
I really need to stop posting from my phone, my auto-correct is totally in control on that device.
Corrected - so that it makes SOME sense!

I'm hoping to catch Scott in the role during one of these absences, I've heard good things!
