Mimi Lien to design new green space at Lincoln Center

This already looks stunning from the preview pictures, as we have come to expect from the Tony-winning set designer of Great Comet and An Octoroon. The space will serve as the primary centerpiece of the Restart Stages program at Lincoln Center, and will be open to the general public from 9 AM- midnight from mid-May to September.

It's a shame Juilliard and Fordham students won't get much of a chance to take advantage of this beautiful new area while it lasts.

I think Lincoln Center is so gorgeous! Love the design and this looks cool if a bit “eh,” but I think in actuality it will look really cool. And I’m all for more green spaces

Love Mimi Lien’s work as a set designer. This...I don’t know. I like it on its own, but it seems to clash with the surrounding buildings. But I’ll remain open-minded and hope it looks better in real life.

Lincoln Center is absolutely gorgeous, as is. That being said, this looks delightful and we could use a little delight and whimsy this summer.

And hey, if you hate it so much, more space for me to plop down and read and enjoy being back in my favorite place in the city.

Good guess. Speaking of purpose, those surrounding buildings don't have one right now. Hopefully, once the tenure of the summer space reaches its conclusion, we will see a slow re-emergence of the purposes that have been dormant for what by then will be a year and a half. In the meantime, a space in which the performing arts can blossom will be a welcome use of the real estate.

I think it looks charming and cute, besides it's only temporary so it wasn't as if that this was going to be permanent.
