Does this always take place around this time of year? And is it usually difficult to get tickets for?

I was there this year for the first time. Wasn’t particularly difficult to snag a seat in the balcony. I saw empty seats so you probably could have gotten a ticket the day of the show.

I’m really curious to see if they’ll be releasing Sara Bareilles’ video of ‘Make Them Hear You’ from Ragtime. She was doing great up until she forgot the words.

This is the video I've been waiting for. Sad to know she mucked up, but I still would love to hear.

I find many of these performances fairly underwhelming compared to years past.

I've always thought it was weird because they get people who are currently under a strenuous 8-show-a-week schedule and ask them to belt and wail on their day off. Most of them probably would destroy these songs, but they were either vocally tired from the week before or saving their voice for their actual show the next night.
My favorites of past years are Gavin Creel's As if we never said goodbye and Steven Pasquale's you'll never walk alone

FYI, for Fairchild's Music & the Mirror, that's Robert LuPone as Zach.

Sara Bareilles - "Make them Hear You" She doesn't appear to stop in this video. Is it fancy editing or did she just restart the song?

Clever editing at it's best. It looks like the cut at around 2:45 takes us from her first try to when she got it right skipping over the valiant tries between. You can even hear the audience's enthuastic reaction shortly after she gets the verse right. Also absent from the video is her telling the audience that there weren't enough performers using lyric sheets that evening as a music stand was brought out for her - irony at it's finest.
Getting to see her do this here made me regret missing her in Waitress.

Soft spot for Victoria Clark and Jeremy Jordan - wish I could have gone but hopefully I’ll go one of these years.

Lenks performance is incredible!! It makes me want to see her do the Emcee in Cabaret
Is it possible to love Ethan Slater even more? Only knowing him and his voice from Spongebob, what an absolute delight to hear his "real" voice. So smooth, and matched with his impish sense of humor, he is just a charmer. Gavin and Wesley were also a joy to watch and listen to. Love the whole video, even the very, very end and Ethan's expression when he gets a tab behind on the trio's bow.

I love her, but I died a little when she said that she had never listened to or watched West Side Story.
