Alas, here is my list:
Say it Somehow & The Light in the Piazza - LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
Light of the World, By My Side, & On The Willows - GODSPELL

holy cow, that song is the mother.
Kind of off topic, but what is going on in the "I hate the bus" scene. I don't understand the dialogue and cannot figure out what Anika's character is going through. Feel free to pm me the answer. Sorry for threadjacking, or whatever the technical term is. It is definetly emotionally satisfying, but i just dont get the sentiment or story behind it.
Just listining to the OBCR of Rent makes me cry...

bump - I"m bored
WICKED: No Good Deed, As Long as You're Mine
DER GLOCKNER VON NOTRE DAME: The Finale, Out There, Hellfire, Esmeralda...gosh, I don't know which song (besides A Guy Like You) DOESN'T pull an emotion from me.
SWEENEY TODD: Johanna (Quartet version)
THE PRODUCERS: Til Him
JEKYLL AND HYDE: In His Eyes, The Confrontation, Someone Like You, I Need to Know (on the concept album with Anthony Warlow), This is the Moment...actually, the whole soundtrack, like DER GLOCKNER, even the minor reprises. Not so much sadness I feel, but A LOT of sympathy for the characters (except Hyde, obviously).
CHICAGO: Nowadays
Those You've Known - Spring Awakening
Another Day - RENT
Fallen Angel - Jersey Boys
I agree with a lot of these:
"The Light in the Piazza" LITP
"Losing My Mind" Follies
"The Fire Within Me" Little Women
Some of the most touching for me (which absolutely include those three):
"The Music and the Mirror" A Chorus Line
"Prayer" The Scarlet Pimpernel
"Color and Light" Sunday in the Park with George
And "I Will Never Leave You" "Who Will Love Me As I Am" and "You Should be Loved" all from Side Show. But i think thats because i did that show, and had to sing "you should be loved"

Left Behind - SPRING AWAKENING (even just the intro makes me tear up)
It's not just about the songs, but the exact moments in these where the characters become self aware. haha I bet there's another thread on the exact song "moments." should do a search and bump it up.
"Gethsemane"- JSC (.. if I DIE!)
"I Know the Truth"- Aida (..I learned it a little too late)
"As Long as He Needs Me"- Oliver! (I won't betray his trust...
Though people say I must)
"No Good Deed"- Wicked (i'm wicked through and through)
"I'll Cover You (Reprise)- RENT (when your heart has expired)
"Rose's Turn"-Gypsy (Well, someone tell me, when is it my turn?)
and slightly off topic-- not a showtune, but gives me chills
Breathe Me by Sia
Back to Before - Ragtime
Proud of Your Boy - Aladdin, well sort of. Every time I sing that tune I shed a little tear or two. Ashman was truly the best lyricist (apart from possibly sondheim) of the 2nd half of the 20th century.
This Nearly Was Mine - South Pacific
Nothing is ever going to top seeing Dean Jones perform "Being Alive" in Company. Five weeks in the role and we SAW him. That was amazing luck. Thanks, dad.
I Don't Know How To Love Him- Jesus Christ Superstar
There are quite a few, but the one I'm currently listening to:
"Rising Up / Act II Finale" from SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE
The quintet at the beginning is wonderful and the haunting "The Truth" at the end adds a nice poignant end to the piece.
While I'm on the show, "Coffee" also has a similar effect on me.
