Do we have an updates on Miss Saigon. Unless Great Comet of 1812 tanks, it is going to have to go to a different Shubert Theatre. So that means it is either going to the Broadway, Winter Garden, or Shubert. Which one do you think?
School of Rock seems to be doing well, so I'm not sure they'll give up the Winter Garden so soon. I think it'll be either The Broadway or The Shubert.
Even if The Great Comet flops, it seems like it may take a bit to change the seating layout back to normal. Then again, it's starting previews pretty soon after Les Mis closes, so who knows?
Miss Saigon will take the Broadway either in November or Feb/March, depending on Fiddlers ticket sales. I heard Smokey Joes is going into the Belasco this summer.

I think "The Wiz" is still going to happen. The only problem is that Kenny Leon is directing "Hairspray Live" and that is going to take up time from August-December. Thus, pushing "The Wiz" to a possible late spring opening.
Is Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close or Donna Murphy? (or someone else :P)?
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

We just saw Glenn Close in London -- and while she was fabulous, I cant see her doing an extended run of 8/week. Maybe she and Murphy can split the shows? Now THAT would be interesting.

No Cirque entered into a 10 year deal with ATG to program the theater, ATG aint giving up a house anytime soon, they very much want to be in the Broadway game to the effect they are reviving the Hudson to have another theater in their portfolio

Correct me if I heard you wrong. So Cirque has the rights to put their shows into the Lyric for the next 10 years?

"
It's just a 20th anniversary non-equity tour.

Hello Dolly? I think I I'll take a pass. I like the show, but I've seen it with Carol Channing, and while I really like Bette Midler, her persona is so big that I'd feel like I was watching Better Midler play a character named Dolly Levi. Not sure I could suspend disbelief enough with her.
As big as Carol Channing was in the theater world, and as connected as she had become to the role, I was still able to connect with the character rather than drift back to who was playing her. If that makes sense.
Midler is hugely talented and I consider myself a fan. But she's almost so big that it would be hard to lose her in the character. Again, if that makes sense.
I really excited for the CATS revival, but I do hope that Rum Tum Tugger does not rap like he did in the British nearly revived version, apparently people did not like the new number. Hopefully they return the song to its original glam rock form.
