Hey all- after seeing the light in the Piazza stage in a museum, and murder ballad staged around the bar , I got inspired to possibly stage a musical or play in a restaurant in Brooklyn- any thoughts or ideas of musicals or plays based on around food or in museums. I own a restaurant and thought it would be really interesting to use it for more then just events and traditional service
THE SPITFIRE GRILLE takes place mostly in a restaurant. Its a lovely small cast musical.
You could follow the lead of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH -- the film, not the musical -- and perform it in a restaurant similar to Bilgewater's.

I got to perform Spelling Bee in a gymnasium. The acoustics were kind of insane.
I've always wanted to stage The Drowsy Chaperone in an apartment with the audience kind of seated on sofas, chairs, etc. and have the characters sort of perform their numbers among the audience.
The Most Happy Fella maybe? Smokey Joe's Cafe? RENT? Sweeney Todd?
