My Chemical Romance/JCM team up?

Looks like John Cameron Mitchell and My Chemical Romance are collaborating on a project, and you-know-who on TikTok is speculating it’s an immersive Black Parade spinoff.

If I were to guess, I’d say it’s bigger in scope than just Black Parade, and is a theatrical exploration of their DRAAG universe.

I am so goddamn ready for this you cannot believe it. I have tickets to see them three times in the next few months and with this it might warrant a return trip to NYC.

The band helped me multiple times through life, like when my dad passed and other events in much lesser tone to that. They've become regular talk between me and my mom and have been given a place in my high school will and testament, with the last words being 'Long Live The Black Parade' as my final line for that. Whatever they have cooking up in the theatrical world, be certain that I will be in attendance, no matter the cost or anything of the sort.

with Mitchell doing the Hedwig 25th film tour on and off this year, I can’t imagine this happens any sooner than 2027

This sounds amazing. I often consider ‘the black parade’ to be the paranoid android equivalent in the 00s, to which is the 90s equivalent of bohemian rhapsody.

I think you mean OK Computer and A Night at the Opera…but yeah this combination of MCR & JCM definitely seems a match made in musical theatre heaven, I just hope they include some songs from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge though mainly Helena & The Ghost of You.

I’m referring to the specific songs not the albums. Correct me if I’m saying something strange because this isn’t my number one genre clearly. But to me Bohemium rhapsody (queen), paranoid android (Radiohead) and WELCOME to the black parade* sorry forgot the full name (my chemical romance) to me are three epic long ‘rock’ songs in different decades that are masterfully constructed and extremely high quality. Almost theatrical in ambition.
