..currently obsessed with Make Up Your Mind... I just love all the directions that song goes in.
Such a special cast recording.
I'm obsessed with all of them at this point! I just put the cast album on my computer at work, I'll probably be listening all day.
Awesome to see it at #20 on iTunes, thats pretty cool.

Done listening. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant score, but it seems inaccurate in terms of the mental illness and treatment portrayal. Maybe the book addresses it more, so I can't say for certain until I see it, but right now I'm little "... uhhh, that probably wouldn't happen."
Edit: Aaaand it got even worse. WOW.
I can't stop listening to this! Simply brilliant
and Maybe is SO heart wrenching...

I'm sure the recording is all that'll be played in my car and on my ipod for quite some time! I also lovelovelove Make Up Your Mind...those 'heartbeats' with the a capella gives me chills every time. I also (unexpectedly) LOVE Wish I Were here.

I am obsessed with this show. OBSESSED. It has been many years since a show has grabbed me like this one.
I haven't even seen this show live yet and I love i..I love the cast recording..they did a great job putting it together and the whole cast sounds amazing..esp Aaron and Jenn!
I love it! All the songs pull you into the show!
wow!
I'm finding that I prefer to listen to the whole album as opposed to picking out favorite songs.

Same here... and I really think you need to see the show to TRULY get a sense of how great the score is !

Jennifer recorded so nicely. She came out the best. Seriously, everyone obsesses over how good Aaron is in "I'm Alive", but that song is really not good (It's a poorly recorded 3rd rate rock song that does nothing for him). Why isn't everyone raving over his "There's a world"!!! It's GORGEOUS!!!! I must say, it might be my favorite song on there!!!!
I'm also listening to it straight through. The score just flows so well together one after another.
I was thinking it would definitely be very confusing to people just listening to the score without seeing the show, kinda like how I felt when I listened to the Taboo OBCR the first time. Nice music but I had no clue what was going on.
I think Jennifer recorded great..but Aaron is equally amazing..I think I'm Alive is a great song..I can't get it out of my head
I quite like I'm Alive, but I think it's a song that is better seen live than heard. Same with Didn't I See This Movie?, which is a bit disappointing for me since I had been listening to the demo version nonstop for a week.

^ Really? I actually thought "Didn't I see this movie" recorded really well, even with the abridging.
It just doesn't pop for me like it did on stage.
For me the song that misses the energy it has live the most is "Just Another Day" I mean it sounds great, but the live energy is just lacking.
I was surprised how well "I Am The One" came across on the recording. For me its the best moment in the show and I was expecting it to not translate as well on a recording, but I think it sounds absolutely amazing.
I'm glad they kept in "I'm going to go have sex with your father.", though.
the only part that i wish they would have kept in is in the beginning of psychopharmacologist, the part where he says "if a train leaves new york at..." i thought that was absolutely hilarious. has that always been there? i didn't see it at 2ST or
Arena. for the people who have seen it before has it always been there?
and i LOVE Aaron's "There's A World". he is so talented. i fell in love with him when i saw him as fiyero. after listening a few time's that is probably my favorite on the album, but i do prefer to listen to the whole thing it is really a great recording as a whole.

^Hah me too. I'm sad they cut Dan's part in "How Could I Ever Forget". Although I'm not a huge fan of Bobby Spencer, he just absolutely breaks my heart with that one.
