Super disappointed Will's "Grenade" from "That Bruno Mars Musical at LAMAMA" isn't on this! OH well! I pre-ordered it anyways.

Posted: 1/8/13 at 9:59amI didn't know Julian Ovenden had joined the cast, as Jeremy Jordan and Jennifer Hudson seem to be getting all the newbie buzz. I loved him in DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY; so much that I bought the cast recording of Marguerite just to more of him to listen to on my iPod.

Well, I guess now we know that Bernadette's character will be playing Marilyn's mother.
I know nothing about the upcoming season, but I don't think that's a given she'll be playing Marilyn's mother. There are any number of contexts in the (tv) show that she could be singing those songs. It's not like Julia and Tom are in the show, either.

Posted: 1/8/13 at 4:55pmIs it bad that I'm the most excited about Ebersole's rendition of Secondhand White Baby Grand? That will be gorgeous.

Posted: 1/9/13 at 5:15amShe did an interview with, I believe it was Playbill, about a month ago where she said she would in fact be playing Marilyn's mother in the musical

"Thank God that Dig Deep isn't the Uma version."
According to the track listing on Amazon, it is the Uma version.
I am a little disappointed that they are just plugging in the previously recorded tracks as though they existed as such within the show Bombshell. We've only ever heard Let Me Be Your Star as a duet but in the world of the show and the show within the show it's a solo. I'd like to hear what that would sound like.
I already own 10 out of the 22 tracks. I don't want to have to buy them again because it will be cheaper to buy the entire album than it will be to purchase the remaining 12 tracks one at a time.

Running time is about an hour and nine minutes.

Posted: 1/31/13 at 4:41pmSeems like they did re-record "Dig Deep" with Hilty instead of Thurman. Thank god.

Posted: 1/31/13 at 8:00pmYay for bonus discs! I preferred Hilty's version of "Never Give All the Heart" to McPhee's. And really looking forward to hearing Christine Ebersole singing "Secondhand White Baby Grand." It's already a lovely song, so to hear her do it will be fantastic.
NBC will release Smash #43
Posted: 2/1/13 at 10:07amI wish they would record both McPhee and Hilty versions of some of those songs, as I actually enjoyed the different vocal takes on them. I really enjoyed McPhee's take on "I Never Met A Wolf Who Didn't Love to Howl" from the Season 1 Finale, and also am interested in hearing her sing "Secondhand White Baby Grand."

Posted: 2/1/13 at 10:36amMarilyns mom spent most of her life in a mental institution, wonder if maybe Bernadette will be playing her Aunt who was a surrogate mother for her.
NBC will release Smash #45
Posted: 2/1/13 at 11:39amI would like to hear Karen singing "Lets Be Bad" and Ivy singing "Don't Forget Me"!!!!
NBC will release Smash #46
Posted: 2/1/13 at 7:21pm"At Your Feet" looks like either a song for little Norma Jean and who ever Bernadette is suppose to be.
NBC will release Smash #47
Posted: 2/1/13 at 8:57pmKaren couldn't pull off "Let's Be Bad" in a million years. There's a reason they never had her come close to touching it.

Posted: 2/1/13 at 9:16pm^I agree. There are definitely certain songs in Bombshell catered towards McPhee's voice (20th Century Fox) and others for Hilty (Let's Be Bad)

Hmmm... Interested in reading about the show-within-the-show. Wonder if lyrics will be included.
