One of the greatest that has ever lived. I don’t normally cry over celebrity passings, but Redford belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of actors and as someone who grew up idolizing that man, I just started crying when I heard the news this morning.

Same.  I met him briefly while attending a panel discussion at his Sundance Resort many years ago.  He just exuded warmth, character, and compassion.  And the fact that he saved so much Utah land from over-development, instead building a compact and low-impact resort property, is just one of the many examples of his staunch commitment to environmental issues.

A deeply kind man and bold champion of independent artists.  We were lucky to have him.

I encourage everyone to watch the film All Is Lost. One of the most physical and powerful performances I've ever seen an actor of Robert Redford's age take on.

It would have been enough for Robert Redford to give us all the brilliant movies he directed and acted in. But the legitimacy and institutional support he gave indie filmmakers through the Sundance Institute made the film industry what it is today. The reason we live in a world where a movie like Anora can win Best Picture is because of Robert Redford.

His career is a lesson for all of us. Don't just entertain. Use your entertainment to make the world better than how you found it.

I can't think of any of his appearances on film that I did not enjoy, but "Inside Daisy Clover" with Natalie Wood remains my favorite.

Thanks for everything, Robert Redford.  TA TA FOR NOW  !!

I liked them in “This Property Is Condemned.”

What I want to know is, who is TweetyPie1?

I agree, I was taken aback when it popped up a news feed several minutes before broadcast media announced. I don't want to sound chiche' but we could all learn something from his life.
