Has anyone seen the new Naked Boys Singing since it reopened at the Kirk Theatre? I'm curious to know how the 1 hour 1 act version differs from the original two act version? Does anyone know what songs they cut and what the current song list is? Thanks for any help!

1 hour! hardly worth the time to go to/from home to see the show.
I guess I stick to the fond memories of bringing my grandmother to see the show. Yes my grandmother! She LOVED the show and was a mini celebrity at intermission because everyone around her wanted to see her reaction at intermission. She thought it was fantastic and loved every minute.
The condensed one act version omits three of the gayer numbers (although a few others remain) that were performed in the original two act version:
Robert Mitchum
Kris Look What You've Missed
Window To The Soul
I saw this a few months ago at the Kirk. I also saw the original back in the late 90's. This is really--pardon the pun--bare bones. The weekend performance times don't conflict with Broadway shows so it's a decent way to pass an hour before or after an evening show or--like I did--in between a matinee and evening show.
Be warned: most of the audience was comprised of bachelorette parties who realized that Chippendales this ain't.

Which is why I never understood it and think Magic Mike the Musical is very well suited for the New World Stages.
I dont understand why this is marketed to bachelorettes. Gay dudes singing songs about being gay. If I was a straight broad, I wouldn't be into it.

Removing "Kris Look What You've Missed" can only be an improvement. Singing to a dead lover was sort of a weird choice in what was sort of a fun, feel-good show.
^Bettyboy, I'm guessing they market to bachelorettes to widen their demographic and potential ticket buyers. With that current song list the content is fairly half and half. Half of those songs deal with gay subject matter and the other half are just about being naked with no gay references at all.
Actually all the songs have a gay sensibility in the lyrics. I have the cast recording.
Are we pretending that MAGIC MIKE didn't draw a gay-male audience?
In addition, I think there's something "safe" about a gay environment for a bachelorette party: the girls can act out with no fear the guys will respond or expect more.
