I have tickets on stage so they're there. I remember them being a little difficult to find, have to specify which of the onstage areas you'd like, you can not choose them from the map. Specific seats will be assigned at a later date.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
They are available you have to specifically select one of the on stage seating options not just "I'll sit in any of these sections." Also I'm pretty sure you cannot select them on the seating chart. I don't think telecharge is advanced enough of a site for that. LOL. The on stage seating was selectable on a seating chat when I saw it at ART... go figure.
What I did was to select the on-stage seating options (banquette, upholstered seats, etc.) one at a time and have the ticketing program search the entire run. What I got was "regular seats not available ..." for each search.
Kinda hard to imagine that all the on-stage seating has been sold already. If so, good for them!
I doubt they're all sold- it's possible they've been temporarily taken out of sale. Earlier, people who bought the tickets were told their seat locations would be assigned at a later date. Perhaps that is occurring now.

Hi Geek, we have tix for that matinee in orch row E; I didn't really want to gamble on unassigned seats for almost $300...hopefully they've worked out the kinks from moving theaters. The banquettes should be interesting though.
We gladly would have paid the extra cost to sit on stage if we could have chosen the location. It wasn't worth rolling the dice... not at those prices anyway. We bought regular price tickets a little further back... hopefully it'll be better to take it all in.
You are receiving this email because you ordered STAGE SEATING for a performance of THE GREAT COMET at the Imperial Theatre in New York City.
We are in the process of assigning your exact seats for the show. To complete the order, we will refund your credit card and process a new charge for the same amount. After your seats are assigned, your tickets will be issued and either sent to you or held at the box office, depending on the delivery method you selected when you placed your order.
^Lol...was just coming to post it as well. I just wish it gave us a possible date as to when the transaction might happen.
(And the only reason I paid for on stage seating was I had a code from the ART for $99 on stage seats. Don't ask for the code -- it expired a while ago. NO way was I paying their original asking price.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Earlier today you received an email about your order for THE GREAT COMET at the Imperial Theatre in New York City. That message was about STAGE SEATING, and you received it in error. Please disregard the message and know that your order for ORCHESTRA seats is fine.
We apologize for the confusion.
Uh...I did book a ticket for an on-stage seat, so I have absolutely no idea why they were sending me this.
Bit annoyed about this process for allocating the on stage seats. I don't want my credit card refunded and recharged as the AUD/USD exchange rate has changed since May when I booked the tickets and I'll be on the losing end of the deal
I got tickets very early on, but I'm still not really sure why the opened tickets so very, very early. I really wish they'd taken the time necessary to sort out the online sales process clearly and easily before they opened things to the public. Rather frustrating. I'll post back here after I call Telecharge about my problem tomorrow.
Count me in as confused and a little annoyed about refunding my purchase and charging me again. Why and for what purpose? As much as I'm excited to see this show, I'm almost sorry I bought the on-stage seating.

How often does it change?

The exchange rate fluctuates constantly. In May when the charge came through on my credit card the Aussie dollar was higher, so I'll be paying more for my tickets at the current exchange rate.
One bit of good news is that my Hamiltix arrived in my inbox today.
But they'll be REFUNDING you this new higher rate, too....correct. It should be a total wash for you. I imagine the transaction will happen the same day...or within 24 hours.
My order is still in my account, karencath.

oh yeah isn't mama right mtchairs? it should be the same exact cost to you (that does suck about exchange rates, I'm glad we don't have to worry about that)

Unfortunately, I don't think that it is the case. My understanding is that the credit card company has different buy/sell rates that apply to a purchase vs a refund.
Anyway, sorry for the segway into foreign currency transactions, I'm still excited to find out what seats I have been allocated. Only 3 months to go till my trip to NY!
