Saw this on Twitter. Its replaced the main Annie billboard above the marquee of the Palace...which, I think needs to be changed somehow.

They should just call it Annee.

They should have had Jane in costume next to Annie. Easier, nicer, and better than her hoo-hoo.

She looks even more like Ellen than usual.

Pathetic. Someone remind me, who is this show about?

I'm sure Jane will be great, and I look forward to seeing her in the role. But this is just ridiculous. At least put her with the damn kid in a costume and call it a day...

Terrible. It's a children's musical for children. What?! At least have her in costume and not in a typical lesbian pants suit. Terrible terrible advertising.

I think it's a brilliant ad and a not so brilliant. Obviously the object here is to sell to the JANE LYNCH audience. People only really recognize her in her "pants suit" etc. If you put her in costume now, most won't even recognize who she is. Wait to she actually starts performing the role and then kind of slowly interject her...that way it warms up the audience to go "oh ok, I know who she is".

The whistle thing is already tired.

I thought the new marquee should of included something that Jane Lynch is taking over as Miss Hannigan.

OMG OMG!!!! Was just walking through Times Square and heard two teenage girls, the one of them said "is that Ellen!?" Then her friend said "that suit makes her look even more like a lesbian! (They both laughed)

It's silly. At least when Chicago does their stunt casting they do it in character, etc.

Well, even if it is misguided and ugly as ****, all it needs to do is sell tickets.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Truth. It's just a tough sell these days with the magic of Matilda, etc. This Annie was just misguided.

That isn't the marquee, that's a billboard above the marquee of the Palace Theater.

Tourists are too stupid to know the name of the actress who plays the coach on GLEE. They want pedestrians to say "the lady from GLEE is in Annie". People are so f#@king stupid. They have to make signs look like this.

"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

The ad is somewhat misleading, as she hasn't even begun performances yet.

There's smaller versions of it around the city too, saw one in Schubert Alley yesterday.

KathyNYC, I realize that, but the average tourist doesn't. The marquee doesn't indicate anything about Jane's start date, so it appears as if she is already in the show.

Now, I haven't walked by the Palace to see if there is additional signage, but the marquee is misrepresentative.

^^ I see your point. Yes I agree.

Regardless, Jane just tweeted that she is actually starting tonight (Tuesday)..so they have moved up her start date twice. Good luck to Jane!! Making your Broadway debut must be an amazing feeling.
