who knew there was an audience for a show about a hymn.
It isn't actually about a hymn; it's about the life of John Newton, who wrote "Amazing Grace". He had a pretty adventurous life as a slave transporter, but I'm not sure enough people realize that...
It's being billed as "based on the awe-inspiring true story behind the world's most beloved song." The show may be slightly wider in scope than that aspect of Newton's life, but it's not being marketed as such.
"It also seems... rather self-sabotaging to write an original score around one of the best-known songs of all time.
That's exactly what I was thinking.

This is going to be like Soul Doctor and Scandalous where they have the religious group money to help them run longer than they would otherwise.
And it was this, the 16th day in month of April in the year of two thousand and fourteen - that the pinto bean admitted to not knowing something. Let it be forever known that this happened. "
Jordan, it's 2015 now.
Are we expecting a Roundabout announcement today too?

I think you are absolutely right, neonlights. Even if the show is unsuccessful financially, I think they are going to stick to it for as long as possible with the same determination as Sting, albeit for different reasons. Maybe not as shockingly long as Honeymoon In Vegas did, but longer than expected.
