The production isn’t coming back. What they’re trying to do is maintain a franchise branding. No one has ever been able to, or tried, to sell a closed musical as an ongoing pop cultural phenomenon, but they’re making an effort to do that and keep Alex Brightman as a brand ambassador the way LMM has been for Hamilton.

Alex Brightman as a brand ambassador????
Hahahahahahaha!

Some of these posts are hilarious.

Look, the show closed. It’s done. It’s not transferring. It’s not coming back. Accept it. Accept reality.

Scarlet Leigh said: "They are very VERY much still trying to make a transfer once shows reopen a thing. All their social media accounts have very STRATEGICALLY worded the closing announcement today with things like "Beetlejuice has had it's final performance...... at the Winter Garden." "

That was true a few months ago, but even before the shutdown they dropped using the "final performance at the Winter Garden June 6th" to just "final performance June 6th." This is such a small change, but it's at least a hint that the transfer is dead. And again this was before the shutdown, which had hope of them finishing out their run and maybe completely sell out. With that definitely not happening, it's hard to see Beetlejuice coming back to Broadway after this.

I enjoyed Beetlejuice, but I feel at this point, even if there is/was an opportunity to transfer, they should not. The subject matter of the show is not what the city needs after this is all said and done. Thinking of Alex Brightman singing The Whole Being Dead Thing to an audience full of mourning citizens once this is all over makes me cringe.

From their Instagram.... posted YESTERDAY:

Hey, you guys! The Broadway League announced today that shows are suspended through June 7, which means we have to say goodbye to the Winter Garden Theatre. Thank you - yes, YOU - for helping make our time there so unforgettable.

And don’t worry! We haven’t been exorcised for good. Stay tuned to learn what’s next for the ghost-with-the-most.

And the picture with it reads "We Loved Every Single DAY-O At the Winter Garden."

They are STILL singing the same tune they have been the whole time. Could this mean national tour? Sure but the fact that they are still point out over and over the "at the winter Garden" and goodbye "to the winter garden..." They are still hopeful or have something they are trying to work on.
