I saw Schwartz years ago in the NYMF production of BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER--she was delightful.

Jackie is phenomenal, saw her last year on tour.

Chandra however, I liked her but I feel she is very artificial with the role, hopefully she changes it up!

i saw donna and chandra. i wish is was them two again, but jackie is also very wonderful (according to what ive seen on youtube :P)

I'm very happy for Chandra. She was wonderful when I saw her on tour. I thought she was hillarious and also brought depth to the character. I wish that Donna Vivino was taking over as the lead Elphaba, but I heard grat things about Jackie Burns.

Awkward that Donna is s/b for the person that replaced her on tour...or maybe she opted for it. Either way, Jackie is phenomenal and I hope I get to see her.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Chandra on the second tour with Marcie? Was Jackie on the second tour as well? I'm almost positive Chandra opened the second tour.

i wonder at what point do people start turning down auditions to replace in the run of a show...like the second or 3rd?

It seems that after the 2nd replacement different tiers of people start to get shots at roles they would never get at the outset.

Like, kerry butler was the second replacement in ROAges and she had a tony nomination. Would aaron tveit replace someone? Would Mary Testa? I find that an interesting part of the business. At the outset of a show you are auditioning against everyone..then the replacements begin and the people who would DO a replacement dwindle, and therefore people who might not have gotten a second callback are now in the running for the roles..

just an interesting thing about this business...

Helene Yorke opened the 2NT with Marcie. Natalie Daradich took over. Chandra ironically took over for Katie Rose on the 1NT. Jackie took over for Donna.

I saw Jackie and Chandra in Boston. One of my favorite pairs. Jackie is an incredible Elphaba,one of the best voices I ever heard. Chandra is very layered, a great actress too. Very much like Katie Rose only way more hyper and emotional.

sorry... i'm probably late to the party, but I had read a couple of different sources that said that Krysta Rodriguez (Addams Family, In the Heights) and someone else (Legally Blonde.. can't remember) were going to be taking the roles in late September. Was this unofficial, and didn't pan out? Does anyone know more?

We are seeing it in October, and I was actually really excited to see Krysta in the role - having been very impressed with her on YouTube, etc.

^ That would have been interesting. I don't immediately think of her for the role, but I would have liked to see her. I think she is a great performer.

^ that was just a rumor. and it seems i am alone in thinking that jackie overacted the role terribly? she has a good voice, but she was just a little too crazed in a few parts. it was understandable during 'no good deed', but that was about it, in my opinion. and i think donna vivino underacted it, based on what i've seen on the tube. haha i'm difficult to please. let's get rachel tucker over here.

You aren't alone in that thought. I love Jackie though. She reminded me of Steph Block in how she used to act in the role also. Their voices were enough to get me to forget that I didn't care for their acting.
