Lindsay announced on social media that she's tested positive for COVID. I feel terrible for her because it seems like the bad luck just won't let up throughout her run. Before the shutdown I heard she had some vocal problems that caused absences. Then of course there was the long hiatus. Then the post-shutdown injury, and now this. It's a shame she hasn't had any chance to settle into the role.
Jenny DiNoia's been going on for a few shows, and I'm assuming the plan is for her to fill in again as lead until Lindsay can come back safely. Meanwhile, Carla Stickler is rejoining the Broadway company so there's another person in the building who can cover Elphaba.

I saw Allie perform at yesterday's matinee. She was terrific. My friend and I couldn't stop talking about her afterwards. If anyone is interested, she also appeared in the Hallmark Channel Christmas movie "Next Stop, Christmas" along with Lea Thompson and Christopher Lloyd. Big holiday season for her!

A leg injury and then covid right after does not make someone not up to the task… Your comment is not helpful.

Let’s see you perform with an injury and Covid

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time Lindsay has ever done an extended run of a musical, much less one as physically and vocally demanding as WICKED, right? I know she's done some short runs in California, but that seems to be it. Obviously she's faced some Covid-related challenges but it can also be true that having your first major starring role in a musical be Elphaba on Broadway isn't the ideal choice.

Wow. Lindsay hasn’t even been in the role for a few months and people are already taking bets as to how long she’ll be there? This isn’t an easy role. Obviously. So if none of you have played Elphaba, shush and give her time. She’s an incredible Elphaba, I have seen her, give her time. No, I haven’t played the role but I can give someone a chance, goodness.

According to Twitter, Stickler hadn't played Elphaba since 2015 and had left acting to become a software engineer.

Not only that, she had to fly in from her new home in Chicago.
I wonder who will be playing Elphaba tonight…
If Carla is on tonight I'd love to know soon so I can buy a ticket....

Let's see if she can do TWO performances in a row!
Yesterday, Stephanie J. Block tweeted that, with a bit of rehearsal, she would step back into the show if asked:

It is not her fault that she started her run right when the show closed due to a national pandemic, then that she injured herself and then was exposed to COVID (right?). You can be the most careful person and things can happen.
unless YOU can personally do Wicked and perform Elphaba 8x a week, leave her alone for goodness sakes.

Deux Moi rumor. Ariana grande to perform one week at Wicked on Broadway to promote the live action movie and Cynthia Erivo to join for the final performance? Coming Spring 2023.

I do not believe this is true. HOWEVER, if it is, getting tickets will be a blood bath. And I shall prosper. LOL

It was already debunked by someone else on Dexumoi. Anyone can submit anything and the account runner just posts them.

lol I lowkey wonder if a member of Ariana's team denied it. That denial was quick. They didn't deny the possibility of Cynthia returning to Broadway for this though.

I wonder that also lol. The original submission just sounded way too fake to me. Like why would Cynthia go through all that rehearsal time for one performance?
