It looks like for Harvey Fierstein and Jeffrey Tambor, they shook up the artwork for La Cage and it looks like a combination of the last 3 potential posters from the Ad Evolution in the New York Times.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure about the artwork, but this show definitely needed 2 new leading men. The original cast of this production sucked!
I loved Hodge and Grammer, can't wait to see this cast as well.. and love the new art work

The gray hair on Tambor makes him look so old and creepy. I know that Albin and Georges are supposed to be aging, but I don't picture them to be ready to go into a nursing home.
The art work is ok but it does emphasize the difference in the cast.
I am looking forward to see what Harvey does with the part. I'm sure it will be so different than Mr. Hoge, who I thought was the best Albin I have ever seen (and I've every one thats been on B'way).
I love that middle poster at the bottom! It's really stunning and looks less like a strip club.
I usually find it dashing too, but I have to kind of agree Tambor comes off a bit...

Albin also won't be wearing suits during his non drag scenes until Uncle Albert. Instead he'll wear Liza-esque clothes.
Hodge and Grammer were outstanding in their respective roles and both deserved every ounce of praise they got...I'm glad they both had a nice year-long run in the show. I don't think Firestein and Tambor will be as good, but I'm seeing them tonight and I'm sure the show will still be a lot of fun.
I'm glad LA CAGE (and a wonderful Jerry Herman score) is still on Broadway!

Is that true?
I'm not a huge fan of the production, but I cannot wait to hear how tonight goes!

Yep. Harvey talked about it in his bway.com interview. The 'I am what I am' dress will be different too.

Considering the time period, you have to remember that guys weren't in the habit of coloring their hair, so it's appropriate.

Are we ignoring muscle23ftl's post? I'm all for it if so, I just wanted to be clear.

I feel like...I mean...I know it's mean, but like...I gotta say...it's just that...I mean...Harvey is way too fat for this role.

To summarize: Georges & Albin got old and fat.
I LOVED Douglas Hodge in the role, and while I am not a fan of Harvey Fierstein's voice, I am looking forward to seeing what him in a show that he wrote.
Harvey was really excellent tonight (and I'll admit I was skeptical). True, his voice is not traditional, but we all knew this going in, and he totally sells the book scenes and the songs and is really wonderful. What a pleasant surprise. Definitely go to see Harvey in this show!
As for Tambor, let's just say I hope they bring back Kelsey Grammer soon - or Dick Latessa. (wouldn't THAT be fun??)
The first poster design at the bottom is totally wrong.
It would be perfect for Hedwig, but not La Cage
..and yes, Harvey was wearing "Liza-esque" clothes and it was truly hilarious. There was even a line added to reference the clothing! (I guess Harvey is allowed to make changes to his own book)
I think Harvey as Alban is amazing casting. If anyone knows what it is like to sing "I am what I am" it is Harvey. The life he has lived the ups and downs and the whole thing... Plus ZaZa is the star of La Cage but remember he A> is George's husband and he is not supposed to be Megastar quality... I think the casting is very wonderful. I cannot wait to go and see it.
