Yeah, the profit margins for limited-run star plays have always been razor-thin except in the rare case when there's a Clooney or a Denzel equivalent. Rising costs makes that likelihood even smaller. It's a frustrating moment in the industry.
If a show returns 80-90%, there's a chance the investors could be made whole with licensing, a London transfer, a live-capture, etc. But it's very much a "rising tide lifts all boats" sitch, and its tough to make the money back if the show returns 0% on Bway.
