Wow, I never knew she played Christine at that performance. She was incredible in that clip.
Incredible news...she is an incredibly talented, sexy, beautiful woman.
She is phenomenal. But I think I'd rather see her play Evita. hehe
Anyone think this could spawn a NY revival?
I didn't realize this revival was only playing for strictly 12 weeks. Feels more like a holiday gimmick than a new revival. Sort of cheapens my excitement.

I think it is only 12 weeks because the Palladium has other artists playing through the spring.
It's not a revival as such. The uk tour is coming in for a Christmas season as the palladium suddenly found itself empty. It will be spruced up a but but it's not really a revival

I think she will be absolutely fantastic. His is not unexpected as Webber's obsession with her has not really been a secret. He seems to have been grooming her. Now if we could just get her over here in NYC in something, anything really.. It would be nice to see her tear into something with meat on its bones - the Witch in Into The Woods, for one..

That's disappointing. If you are going to bring CATS back, it needs to be in a gigantic and creative way. This is not that.

"She is an incredibly talented, sexy, beautiful woman."
Doesn't that mean that she's entirely wrong for the role? I always thought she shoud be old and worn out and...well, as the character's name insinuates, grizzled.
Does it really even matter what she looks like? She'll have so much makeup on anyway.

I still think having and older woman play it works better, vocally and physically.

I think she is a fantastic choice, but I find it odd that the entire creative team is being brought back for this production. Don't they want a brand new fresh production? Why not bring in a really incredible up and coming choreographer??
It is strange. I mean isn't he doing some sort of rap? So Webber has a hand in it. But yet it's kind of a rehash? I wonder if it will use the inflatable set?
I would love to see a reimagined take on Cats, but its not gonna happen. I don't really think they mess around to much with their big hits. Even Les Mis on Broadway, and Miss Saigon in the UK aren't really that much different from the original productions. I always kinda found it weird that Grizabella is always cast as a younger woman. Even Betty Buckley was 35 when she played it on Broadway. I think the role is supposed to dance in Jellicle Songs without the full Grizabella costume on.
@Wilmington
Just an FYI- Paige was 33, Buckley was 35 and Scherzinger is now 36 years of age at the time they each will have played Grizabella.
Sophia Ragavelas who played Grizabella on tour will be Nicoles alternate based on a retweet of hers. Ridiculous to have an alternate for this role, although I love Sophia so would rather see her anyway

Does anybody think this show is gonna extend in London, and turn into a full scale revival? I would love to see Patti Lupone play Grizabella when it comes to Broadway!!
It may extend if it sells well until the next show is ready but even then it wouldn't really be a revival. It's just a tweaked version of the uk tour which itself is pretty mu h the original production

Huss, I'm aware of those ages and of course you're point is well taken. But I've always wondered why the character isn't cast older. I saw a regional production in which the woman playing Grizabella was in her 60s, had a glorious voice and it was heartbreaking. In that same production Gus was played by an actor in his 70s and it was extremely poignant. Maybe it is, as another poster opined, that most times the Grizabella is called upon for Jellicle Songs.

Looks like they aged Nicole's hair and make-up a little bit

There is audio of Nicole singing "Memory" and I think it is pretty damn good.

I want to hear the new Rum Tum Tugger "rap". The new Tugger costume is atrocious
