This is a little disappointing to me. Then again, I have never seen her perform live, so I am just gonna pray that my perception of her is dead wrong.

Well she must have had an inkling before then, she withdrew from "Connect/Disconnect" the previous Wednesday.

"she was in the running as was another former elphaba."

Who may I ask? If Dee beat out Kristy Cates, I'll be kinda pissed.

I'm not very excited about this. There is just something about Dee's voice that I don't like. An accent of some sort or something.

How many former Elphaba's are there out there that are actually available right now?

And how many standbys might be available, good enough to move up?

Some of them are involved in other projects aren't they? Or have said they don't want to come back?

I'm hoping that Dee does take over for a bit. However I know this isn't the most reliable source but http://oz.wikia.com/wiki/Wicked_cast_lists has Donna listed as the next Elphaba in Aug. Would Dee do a couple of weeks then and Donna would take over for her?

What's the point in speculating? Almost all of these women are interchangeable anyway.

What a shame.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
