....after suffering 'Too Close To The Sun' on Saturday night!
FCUK this was bad, bad, BAD!
How the hell was this allowed to get a West End home after the fiasco of 2005 that was 'Behind The Iron Mask'????.
I want answers!!!!
It is soulless, heartless, directionless and mindless. Left me speechless!
Why its called a musical I will never know as it is nearly 20 minutes until we hear the first note! The musical (ha) numbers that followed were forgotten by the end of the applause. Every number had very little to add to the progression of very limp, boring and tasteless story.
The applause by the way was the most forced I have ever heard in a theatre- polite and hardly audible at best! 11 people left the stalls within the first 45mins!
Jay Benedict was off after just 3 performances- I guess he's still running towards the end of a pier -wise man.
Every performance could be bettered by most am dram companies in the country.
The set looks like its made of large matchsticks and its revolve sounds like its run out of oil already.
The very chatty box office manager said it has no advance and when I asked if she had seen any of it, her answer was 'a little and that was too much!!' with a stare that almost said 'do you still want to go in?' lol
This is up there in the top 10 of the very worse shows to hit the West End -ever!
Only go if you enjoy seriously bad flops- but this was too close to putting even me off theatre for ever.
This will get slaughtered and gone within 2 weeks.
I got seriously burned, pass me the Cool Gel please!
***The above applies to act one only- i was deep in the dens of Soho by the time act two went up!
