Seems we all have pre-Norbert stories to share. A's, Patronus', my story about how I probably saw Norbert when he was with the Nebraska Theatre Caravan many a year ago.. LOL
When I met Norbert, he was wearing a USC (University of Southern California) Trojan's hat. I was kind of "wtf" over it. Hehe.
My baseball team is the Cubs. If the Red Sox can do it, so can they.
ok so i've just caught up on the past few pages. and i have some things to say... first, i also saw norb when he was in Rent. i was only 9, so i don't know why my parents brought me to see that. second thing..i feel SO YOUNG. i'm only 17. gah. lol ya'll make me feel like a baby. and lastly...i'm going to NYC in october to see DRS...i got row AA tickets, center. so i'm really really excited. it'll be my third time seeing it. AND i get to go backstage. Greg offered, and then Norb is going to help out..so it'll be me, my cousin, Greg, and Norb walking around backstage. CANT WAIT. and its on my birthday!!!! how much better can it get?!?!?!!? lol
Saw this posted at the Norbert LJ community; figured everyone here would enjoy it. You know how everyone's like "where did Babydoll come from?!" ...well... now we have two more solo songs to add to that.
There really is no story behind those 3 songs, newgirl. I meant to ask him when I met him but you know.. the fangirly mind took over and I completely forgot.
TL5Y = one of the most amazing things ever
I bought my copy online via Amazon.com - you can also buy it through sh-k-boom.com; if you're looking to purchase in store.. Virgin in Times Square has it, as do some Borders and Barnes & Noble.
OMG agreed. L5Y is amazing. Jason Robert Brown is GENIUS...and for them to put Shere and Norbert on it...just amazing. and if you haven't, you should get JRB's other stuff...Parade is the other really really really amazing one. LOVE HIM! i just wish that Norb and Shere were on that cd too..but they aren't, unfortunately.
ok guys. i have a question so i've looked online and found Norbs birthday on two sites..one said Jan 30, 1967...and one said Jan 20 (with no year) anyone know which it is? and what year? thaaaaaaaaanks!!
lol see i was in denial. i was like naw, he can't be 38. no way. cuz i'm only 18 so i didn't wanna accept that my favorite person ever is 20 years older than me. buuuut i guess i hafta come to terms with it, just like i had to come to terms with the fact that hes with michelle, which i didn't know about until this thread lol so yeah...its ok though. hes still AMAZING
anyways, OMG, norbert is AMAZING. i'm SO GLAD that i saw it a second time just for him! wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW.
well, firstly, he has a beautiful ass. can i say that? haha. it's smooth and...perfect looking! lol, and actually, my UNCLE was the one to point that out first! (and no, HE'S NOT GAY!) haha, sorry if that was wierd. but, i figured it would be okay, b/c...this IS a norb love thread!
i posted my review/story over on the greg jbara love thread if any of you want to read it! (please, do!) if you don't want to go all the way over there, i'll just say that norb has some really good improv skills! (not a surprise, though!) also, after the show, backstage, i saw him walking across the stage, and i said "Hi norb!" he smiled back and left to go sign autographs and what not! such a talented guy, that man!
no..no i'd agree. norbert has a WONDERFUL butt lol at intermission of the show my cousin goes "ali, are you in heaven!? you just saw butz's butt!!!! the butt of butz!" and on and on and on.. it was awesome.
So, this is totally random, but I just stumbled across this thread from a google search. I was skimming through it, but got bogged down pretty early on. (Seeing as it's 103 pages long, that's not hard to imagine!). I've never seen NLB perform, but I love his voice. AMAZING! Really, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how I could get ahold of NLB singing One Song Glory. I found one copy, but it was so scratchy that I could hardly hear him. I want to do a test...him or Adam (who I also love, but have never seen)? hmm... Thanks!
i'd have to agree that Norb would be perfect for Passion. like Broadway Betty pointed out, hes done it all...but the most convincing one is the fact that hes done "the last five years" he has some sad, happy, and intense songs in there. and he was FABULOUS in it. so i think he could easily do Passion and be great in it.
i found a recording online of norb singing "one song glory" and its amazing. i'm wish i remembered when i saw him in rent..but i was like, 9 or 10 (don't remember what time of the year i went) in 96 so i know i saw him, i just don't remember. cuz i was super young. but whatever. i have recordings of it, so its all good
You don't, by chance, remember where you found a version of him singing the song, do you? The only one I've been able to track down is very scratchy so I can barely hear him. Every other link I've found is broken. The sites are too old, I suppose.
